The Scout: UFC 253 Posted on September 25, 2020September 26, 2020 | Posted by The Scout Israel Adesanya vs Paulo Costa Israel Adesanya puts his perfect MMA record and the middleweight belt on the line against the also-undefeated Paulo Costa. Adesanya is a high-level kickboxer who uses his 80-inch reach to full advantage with smart distancing and precision striking. Costa is a physical specimen with extreme power and legitimate one punch knockout potential. Adesanya’s advantage in this bout comes with his preference to counter-strike against fighters who bring the fight to him. This is exactly what Yoel Romero didn’t do, and what Costa WILL do from the outset. If this fight gets beyond the opening two rounds, Costa’s explosiveness will decline and we should see Adesanya loosen up and become more aggressive with his combinations. Suggested Bet: Israel Adesanya by KO @ $2.40* Dominick Reyes vs Jan Blachowicz Jon Jones vacating the division means Reyes and Blachowicz will be fighting for the light heavyweight belt in UFC 253’s co-Main Event. Reyes was undefeated before his narrow loss to Jones, but undoubtedly going toe-to-toe with the UFC GOAT will fill him with confidence. The American will want to keep this fight off the ground as Blachowicz can seriously wrestle. Reyes is the younger more athletic fighter here, and should be able to control the tempo. His footwork is possibly the best in the division and this should hold him in good stead when countering any take-down attempts. I see Reyes with a clear advantage here and I don’t think we will have to wait long to see his striking prowess. Suggested Bet: Dominick Reyes by KO @ $2.10* *Odds correct as at 8am, 25th September 2020. Market Market
