The Scout: EPL Week 12 Posted on November 18, 2021November 19, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Newcastle vs Brentford Brentford (12th) take on Newcastle (19th) in a match that will feature two teams that are both struggling and are desperate for a win. The Bee’s have really fallen away after a promising start to their Premier League campaign and have now lost four in a row. Despite some tough opponents the 2-1 loss to Norwich was the worst they have played all season. Recently appointed manager Eddie Howe will be in charge for his first game for Newcastle and it is unknown how he will organize his starting XI. Defensively the Magpies have been horrendous and have to date allowed 24 goals to be scored against them, it is unlikely Howe will solve this defensive issue in his opening game for his new side. Thomas Frank’s Brentford play an attacking brand of football and do not change their style of play making them an exciting watch. Led by the attacking duo of Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford possess plenty of firepower and when they are on top of their game are a deadly prospect in attack. Currently sitting in the relegation zone, Newcastle will be hopeful Eddie Howe is the man to ensure they do not get relegated. It is a tough task to fix a defense that is struggling to contain teams and coming up against a deadly attacking side in Brentford. I simply cannot see how Newcastle keeps them out. Suggested Bet: Brentford Win @ $2.64* Wolverhampton vs West Ham Wolverhampton (8th) had their first loss in six matches last matchday with a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace and will be looking to get back to their winning ways. West Ham (3rd) are in incredible form and have won their last four Premier League matches in a row. The Hammers are a legitimate top 6 team and look fantastic on both sides of the pitch, linking up perfectly in attack and are rock solid defensively. West Ham have had some impressive wins during their 4-game win streak which includes victories over Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton. West Ham have in the past relied on the brilliance of striker Michail Antonio to score their goals however they have started to find goals from other avenues which makes them incredibly deadly. The Hammers have started to become massive threats from set pieces with defenders Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna finding goals in recent matches. There is no denying that West Ham are an impressive outfit and have looked superb under the guidance of David Moyes. Wolverhampton are a respectable Premier League side but will simply be outclassed in every position by the London side. Suggested Bet: West Ham Win @ $2.40* Norwich Vs Southampton Despite their first win of the season last matchday, Norwich (20th) still finds themselves at the bottom of the table. Southampton (13th) have turned things around dramatically and are currently in a rich vein of form and are undefeated in their last four Premier League fixtures. Defensively the Saints have stepped up their performances and is the main reason they have been winning matches. Southampton have managed to keep a clean sheet in three of their last four matches and have been completely nullifying their opponents attacking advances with a well structured back four with Polish center-back Jan Bednarek leading the way. In attack Southampton strikers Che Adams and Adam Armstrong are starting to develop great chemistry and are becoming a promising duo. The Saint’s formation in attack is to play two strikers alongside each other which has worked perfectly for Adams and Armstrong who use their speed to get behind enemy lines and score goals. Norwich was great in their 2-1 win over Brentford however you cannot look past the rest of their performances so far this season. Norwich defensively have allowed the most goals in the league (26) and have also scored the least goals in the league (5), they will struggle to score against Southampton’s suffocating defense and will not be able to stop them scoring. Suggested Bet: Southampton Win @ $2*
