The Scout: A-League Week 5 Posted on December 17, 2021December 17, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Central Coast Mariners vs Western Sydney Wanderers Central Coast (5th) put on a sensational performance against Sydney FC scoring two early goals and then changing into a defensive formation to secure a 2-0 win. Western Sydney Wanderers (7th) were handed their first loss of the season as they were completely out matched by Macarthur FC losing 2-0. The Mariners were fantastic in the opening half against Sydney FC as they attacked from the get-go and put constant pressure on their opponent. Central Coast manager Nick Montgomery has his side playing with an intensity that was missing from last season. There is a winning feeling developing at Central Coast Stadium and playing once again in front of their home crowd you can expect the Mariners to come out firing from the get-go. Central Coast striker Marco Ureña is looking dangerous having scored two goals in his first four matches. I expect the Mariners to take advantage of a Western Sydney side that is lacking confidence, an early goal will be all that’s needed for Central Coast to take maximum points. Suggested Bet: Mariners Win @ $2.50* Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix Sydney FC have suffered a fall from grace as last years runners up are now sitting 11th on the ladder and have yet to find a win in the A-League. Wellington Phoenix sit 9th after back-to-back losses and will be looking to take advantage of a Sydney side that is playing horrendous soccer right now. This could not be a better time for the Phoenix to take on Sydney FC as they are visibility struggling and cannot put it together in attack. Steve Corica’s side simply cannot score goals and have only managed to score twice this season, both goals coming in a 2-2 draw against the Newcastle Jets. Wellington will be looking to bounce back after two average performances, and this is the perfect time to do so. Phoenix will frustrate Sydney FC with defensive tactics early on and if they can avoid going behind early, the doubt will grow once again in the home side and Wellington will get a much-needed win. Suggested Bet: Wellington Win @ $4.30* *Odds correct as at 7am, 1th December 2021. Market Market Brisbane Roar vs Perth Glory (GAME POSTPONED)
