Sully’s NRL Preview – Preliminary Finals Posted on September 22, 2017 | Posted by James Sullivan It’s Preliminary Final Weekend and we head to AAMI Park tonight in a “Mate vs Mate” Showdown with no less than 14 Queensland players involved when the Storm and Broncos go toe to toe. The Storm snuck past the Eels a fortnight ago and the Broncos worked hard to secure victory last week against the Panthers. Things won’t get any easier for Brisbane tonight against a side they have lost 19 of their past 23 games to. The Broncos welcome back inspirational Skipper Darius Boyd and the Storm are once again unchanged. 33 Tries in the opening 20 minutes of games in 2017 have helped the Storm kick start matches all year and I expect the same to continue with a Storm win tonight. On Saturday evening it’s off to Allianz Stadium with the Roosters awaiting the Cowboys who again surprised most pundits by suffocating the Eels last week. The Roosters are another side who get out of the blocks quickly scoring 30 tries in the opening 20 minutes. Incredibly they have won 12 games by 6 points or less in 2017 and their last 4 games by a combined total of 12 points but they will face a confident Cowboys squad who have an incredible 13 survivors from their 2015 Premiership outfit. That said they will have to rectify their slow starts which have occurred throughout this finals series and I expect the Roosters to be too classy over the 80 minutes.
