Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 KISS THE BREEZE draws the inside, has the blinkers added and showed a little something last start when she kept coming late. If she reproduces her run of two starts ago in this field she goes close. Nearly final chance for her. STRASMORE was woeful last start. You can make an excuse with the rail being lengths inferior going but he put up the white flag very quick. MASCHINO MISS belted weak opposition at Esperance but looks handy. OCEAN CANDY was a forgive effort on debut and trialed well. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – KISS THE BREEZE WIN Race 2 SPEEDY MISS dropping out of the Ascot 1000 Guineas where she didn’t see out the 1800 but was still a reasonable effort in defeat. That race was a sit and sprint affair run well below average and gave her little to no hope. Back in trip suits. SOPHIE’S SONG was impressive when nailed late by Rebel Knight and then went around odds on over a mile and gave it away very quickly. Can bounce back without surprising. SWIFT MIRAGE looks to have ability and gets it soft. JESTER NOIR was a huge drifter last start and missed away but finished off well. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SPEEDY MISS WIN Race 3 EMBASSY SQUARE is a horse worth following. He needs galloping room and maybe the 1000m straight will help him. He can’t wobble around the bend and if he is free of traffic issues could show his best. Think he will make a nice 1400m horse but this is winnable. DINKUM GIRL is trained locally and trialed well. Drawn the right side and has speed. CATHERINE WHEEL will need to come across from an awkward draw but trial was very nice. HICOUNT showed ability in her first campaign but that was over further and a long time ago Numbers: 3 – 9 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – EMBASSY SQUARE WIN Race 4 VELAGO has always shown well and truly above average ability. He is his own worst enemy and does a lot wrong. If the stable can iron out his issues he’ll win plenty of races. Warwick can ride to instruction and he gets his chance. OLGA LOUISA has been racing very well and jumps off the page with recent 3 year old Saturday form. Unfortunately she has dropped into a hot class 1 field. BEL MY PAGO is a horse many will have black booked. Could need a bit further. SOY TAN RAPIDO leads and can be hard to run down. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – VELAGO WIN Race 5 QUEEN KARNILLA is no doubt going to step out over further into the preparation but can sprint well fresh in what is a fairly moderate 1500m maiden. Recent trial was good and she’ll be doing her best late. If she is within striking distance coming for home she can reel them in. ALL APPEAL was beaten a fair way first-up but in a far stronger line-up than this. FAIR GLORY can lead or box seat from the inside draw and go close on debut. SULPHUR CRESTED ran a good race last start and should be right in the finish. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – QUEEN KARNILLA WIN Race 6 TWENTYTHREE RED is a nightmare of a horse in the mounting yard. Tries to bite anyone that comes near him and gets really fired up but if he can leave a bit in the tank then second-up at 1500m he can lead and take some running down. Big effort over an unsuitable trip fresh. METALLIC BELLE made a long sustained run to win last start, impressive. DICKOLETTO has a big X-Factor about him. He runs his races in patches and will ensure Percy Turner earns his riding fee. LENNON’S SONG fresh can hit the line. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – TWENTYTHREE RED WIN Race 7 UTGARD LOKI was given every chance by Staeck last start and was run down by a horse who was deep the majority. Should keep improving into the preparation and faces another field where most of these have had every chance in C1s for the last 6 months. Scratched from a Listed 3 year old feature to contest a lowly C1. MURRAY THE BULLDOG went well at 1400m last start and again ventures into unknown territory over a mile. ROSIE RED DRESS went a lot better last start. SHORT BLACK ROMAN is consistent but finds it hard to win. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – UTGARD LOKI WIN Race 8 METRO BOY comes out of Saturday 3 year old races and from the gate should get every chance. This looks as nice a race for him as any with his rating. FIRE MAKER was big fresh but will need to be again here with the big weight and wide gate. KLONDIKE KENNY is the kind of horse who you will go broke following but back to his home track and with a riding change is a hope of upsetting them. LOVE TRADE was a late scratching last week but her previous effort leading at a strong tempo at Bunbury was impressive. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 13 Suggested Bet – METRO BOY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,7,10,12 1,3,7,8 1,2 1,3,4,6,9,11,12,13 Market Market
