Scott Embry’s Wednesday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 3, 2023October 3, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 EDWARD’S CHOICE was disappointing last start behind Red Flora in a race where it was all over with 600m to go and nothing made any sort of impact. There’s speed on speed here with Just So Sassy, Snippagent, Born And Bread and Twist of Gold all likely to lock horns in a speed battle. Looking for something to sit close handy and he could be that horse. COUNTERMEASURE was a late drifter at his return at York and then was KO’d from the get-go. Forget he even went to the races. JUST SO SASSY is really quick but she paddles late. WANNA CRACKER found Red Flora too big and strong on debut. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – EDWARD’S CHOICE EACHWAY RACE 2 DIALLING finished second in a 3 year old Saturday event behind Lord Lala, beating home Augment, beating home Snow Prince, beating home Linden’s Gold. Ended up getting a mile off them last Wednesday in a 3 year old maiden and should find this even easier with 1kg less and a better barrier. On form he goes very close. DUO MUSO was a great return to racing at York when flooding home late. ELUSIVE DREAM is now a 16 start maiden who William Pike couldn’t lift home in his last two outings. Thin race. MYSTERY BULLET went back in distance last start. Prior effort behind Dasshumisu was luckless. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – DIALLING WIN RACE 3 PRAY WITH YOU and RED CADILLAC both come through the exact same race behind Dance Of Thunder last start. Watching the replay it’s hard to not side up with RED CADILLAC who was pulling late ground off them and charged through the line after finally getting clear half way up the straight. Looks like she’ll eat up 1760m and Shaun McGruddy can get her to the outside and wind up over them. PRAY WITH YOU has beaten her home at their last three outings and must be respected. Going super. GOT LUCKY an improver back out in distance. VANCOUVER LAD isn’t going that bad. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – RED CADILLAC WIN RACE 4 HONEST LEGEND has shades added for the first time in WA (wore them twice in Victoria back in 2021) and if he can reproduce his effort four starts back when winning from the breeze he would be hard to run down. Clearly does his best when he’s ridden for speed – three wins: leading, leading, breezing, so Jarrad Noske should be the perfect replacement rider for him. MAGIC DEE beat home both Honest Legend and Yoyo’s last start and maps to get a similar run. She hasn’t won for a long time but Brett Drury has her going well. YOYO’S is better than what she’s produced over the last two months. OUTFIELD is honest. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – HONEST LEGEND WIN RACE 5 LIEUTENANT DUNBAR drops from a metro C3 into a country C2 and only carries an extra 2kg. Looks to be excellent placement by George Dupre and he looks to get a gun run over the speed. Main dangers both get back (Witch Street & Ryewood) and so at the top of the straight he should loom the winner. Great race for him. RYEWOOD has her first start for Peter Fernie and resumes without a trial. 1300m looks a great starting point for her. Nice acquisition. WITCH STREET has been a great find for Ash Grace and her last two are both good enough to win this. AIDAN’S CHOICE next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – LIEUTENANT DUNBAR WIN RACE 6 GREAT DEMON might not be the most suitable Kalgoorlie commodity, especially if he’s shuffled back into traffic, but he’s easily the most talented and progressive horse in the race. Enormous win on debut when gunning them down from a mile back at Pinjarra and from that recent Lark Hill trial we’ve seen Desennae and Playhouse Patron both come out and win first-up. HIDDEN RUBY has been up for a most of the season (with a freshen in the middle) and continues to race well. Best barrier she’s drawn in a while. HIDE THE OREOS was massive at his first-up run. Big watch. TWELVE BELLS has put in a few rippers since arriving in WA. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – GREAT DEMON WIN RACE 7 BIN SHALAA looks to map a treat in this high speed 1100m event. Playthatfunkymusic, Love Drunk Baby and The Big One are all extremely quick conveyances and Bin Shalaa can sit just off them and present at the right time. Was posted deep throughout at her return to racing and fought on well into third. PLAYTHATFUNKYMUSIC is drawn barrier 10 of 10 but few can go as quick as him when they put the foot down early. THE BIG ONE drops down to only 52.5kg and goes quick. LOVE DRUNK BABY may need to show some versatility to sit here? Numbers: 6 – 3 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – BIN SHALAA WIN RACE 8 MAGNIFICENT ANDY has profiled like a brilliant Hannans Handicap horse for 9 months. At the end of his Ascot preparation he won a 66+ 1400 and a 72+ 1400 in back to back outings and stamped himself as a 4 year old with huge upside who would suit a high speed, high pressure Hannans. Gets those exact conditions here following Excellent Dream and Big Screen and should present at the perfect time on straightening. LET’S GALAHVANT has lost William Pike and that clearly dents his chances. Effort behind Magnificent Andy last start showed he’s back to his best. MOOD SWINGS gets a very similar run to Magnificent Andy but concedes him 3kg. STARALIGN an improver at odds. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – MAGNIFICENT ANDY WIN RACE 9 MAIL didn’t have much room to move last start when he was trying to wind up into the race in the home straight. Was looking for three wins on the bounce after impressive back to back C2 victories. Open and even race but he’s going as well as any of them. CELEBRITY WITNESS won a very similar race to this two starts back and was also luckless last start in the Count Grundy race (lots were). FRANKIE BLUE EYES brings alternate form and was super late behind Turbo Power. Keep safe. ONEMOREFORLEO comes up in grade but gets an inside draw and a senior rider on. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAIL EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,3,4,6 2,3,6,7,10 1,3,6 1,5,6,8 Market Market
