Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 26, 2024November 26, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CASH FLOW looks really well played by Meryl Hayley first-up. As a 2 year old ran fourth to September Born beaten 3L, ran seventh beaten 5L behind Wind And The Lion and ran second to Lano all in Saturday company. First start as a 3 year old is in a country maiden and should be hard to beat. SANSANEE is speedy and may well look to turn this into a jump and run type of 1100m scamper. DIXIE PRINCESS scratched from the most recent meeting and saves for this. FIRE THE GUARD is a long time maiden who has had a lot of opportunity. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – CASH FLOW WIN RACE 2 SPECIAL PLAN was first-up, no trial going into a 1400m maiden and tried to match motors with Ideally. Did a great job to go with her for as long as she did and they kicked right away from the rest of the field. The gap to third was enormous and that is usually a great indicator that the runner-up is going to be hard to beat at their next outing. AURORA QUEEN trialled well enough to be very competitive in a country maiden on debut. SHE’SATROOPER was green at York but still went well behind all the way winner Weapon’s Hot. FLASH INVADER has turned a corner with Carey Martin. Numbers: 8 – 14 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL PLAN WIN RACE 3 ALMAYA loomed the winner last start but couldn’t quite go with King Mahuta over the concluding stages. Draws better, meets a similar line-up and going from a C1 to a C2 meets almost the identical field with a half kilo less. Laqdar Ramoly jumps on and he should get every mortal chance to break through. MIFF MUFFERED MOOF has been there abouts all campaign and continues to knock on the door. HILLSIDE HORACE has come back bigger and better this time in. GONDRINKIN ran another cheeky last start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – ALMAYA WIN RACE 4 HOT NOVA finished third to The Rush and then second to Stevie’s May and then most recently was held up at crucial stages behind Dadirra. Think this is the right map for her and she’s got no weight after Chanel Cooper’s claim. Back to 1100 also a positive for her. LORD SHIVA has been an extreme test of patience. Beaten favourite first-up, second-up, third-up and fourth-up and is sure to go around short again here heading to Geraldton. One last chance or sack? That’s the question for punters. Map is tricky and he’s not exactly that trustworthy. BIG CITIES holds a spot. IDENTIFIER improves. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – HOT NOVA EACHWAY RACE 5 STEVIE’S MAY has really come of age this preparation with Albert Bowtell. There isn’t a trainer in the region (nearly the State) with a strike rate as potent as Albert and while this mare is up in grade and drawn off the track she gives the impression she’ll continue to march her way through the grades in Geraldton. REQUISITION is always there abouts when Brett Pope can find a country rating race for the old boy. PRINCE RAGNAR is an X-factor on the grass if he can find the top. BIN SHALAA is as honest as they come. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – STEVIE’S MAY WIN RACE 6 WESTOZI trialled super on two occasions leading into his highly anticipated return to racing and didn’t let punters down first-up on Melbourne Cup Day when winning soft (Austin Galati could not have ridden him with any more confidence late) and then he went into the Batavia Sprint when only beaten 4.5L by Bayezid. Up to 1400m suits and he’s drawn to get all the favours. SNIPPY WHICH is a talented opponent and is loving the trips to Geraldton. Looks a massive danger. WHAT A PRINCE can kick through to lead from the inside gate. ADVANCED is a nice horse for these c70+ races for Team Farrell. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – WESTOZI WIN RACE 7 THE RUSH has been a nice acquisition for Malcolm Mackenzie and from this barrier Kyra Yuill should be able to give her every possible chance. Drops 3kg in weight on her last start effort behind Dadira and has form around Well Played and New Music which is good enough to win this. Nice race for her. LA DETTE got back at Bunbury and recently that’s been game-set-match for those horses. Complete forgive and should be getting the right run here. ALLABOUTTHECRAIC is not an easy mare to catch and is back a long way in distance but she does her best work at Geraldton. DOMINEER is the trials horse for Neville Parnham’s apprentice but isn’t hopeless on race day. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – THE RUSH WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,11 1,2,5,9 3,4 2,3 Market Market
