Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 31, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 COSMIC EYES has always shown promise throughout her career but is still learning the game. Sent to Kalgoorlie to an easy kill and when you consider the opposition the margin flatters but this is not a tough assignment either. VITAL TOUCH is ultra consistent and her maiden win was strong and looked good on the clock. PARTY NIGHT has started huge prices in far tougher 2 year old races than this. Improver. TOGETHER WE DREAM is drawn the cutaway and box seats. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – COSMIC EYES WIN Race 2 FA’LION MACHINE went well first-up in what has turned out to be a fairly strong form reference. Second-up was caught deep the trip and was making steady ground when the leader was off and gone. Step up in trip suits. GEOGRAPH BAY looked home for all money last start but peaked late. Back to 1400m drawn to sit in the perfect spot. SCOOTER’S MACHINE is worth including at big odds into exotic bets. AL’S FAMOUS was a nice run from well off them fresh without a trial. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – FA’LION MACHINE WIN Race 3 LEAGUE OF NATIONS found the front and won well at his WA debut and the horses who ran second, third and sixth have since saluted. This race is arguably easier than his first-up assignment. FALSE STATEMENT was an impressive debut winner and then parked deep the trip last start. No such excuses drawn 1 and with the cutaway on offer looks the only danger. EVEN MORE ALERT only has moderate Esperance form but can run a race from off the speed. COLOURFUL CHARADE has some nice 3yo form to his name. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – LEAGUE OF NATIONS WIN Race 4 REBEL KNIGHT gets the nod in a very high quality midweek 3 year old race purely on the fact that he is proven in the wet going. First-up a month after only a 400m jump out on a soft7 and ran into one who could be a star. DOUBLE BUBBLE went round at a huge price for a Miller-Pike juvenile on debut and didn’t disappoint. Looks a handy filly. KAKADU has hit form and can continue on his merry way. LEADING MAN has looked good at trials and drawn the cutaway. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – REBEL KNIGHT WIN Race 5 DISCO RIFFIC is dropping back from a 1400 to a more suitable 1200m. More experienced claiming apprentice engaged and could be odds in the toughest race of the day. ANOTHER STORY either leads or sits outside and is going well. KINGDOM AND EMPIRE will be bobbing up soon in this grade. Has form in far stronger. MULTIVERSE was well below his best first-up and is untested on rain affected going but being by Universal Ruler should swim. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DISCO RIFFIC EACHWAY Race 6 REVEILLE is yet to encounter a rain affected track in her career but she is extremely well placed first-up for a new stable. Trialed well without blinkers, Pike, Durrant and drawn a gate where she doesn’t have to settle any further back than midfield. If she handles the going will be hard to roll. STOCKYARD GOSSIP won convincingly first-up and can go close again. RUSSIAN RIVER is honest and consistent and rarely far from the money. GENERAL HUSSON deserves a win this preparation but history says he’ll get run down. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – REVEILLE WIN Race 7 HAY MAGIC has a senior rider engaged and has been racing without luck for a long time. Last two runs have been very big and both better than read on paper. Gets her chance in a weak race. PERSIAN PRINCESS finds it extremely hard to win races but pinches one of these soon. IRISH MOSHE was never better than four deep last week but it was also the better ground. Gets through the wet and is consistent. DUCK FEET has put together two very nice runs from well off the speed over the mile, however, settles almost last again here. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – HAY MAGIC EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,5 1,2,3,5,6,7 6,8 1,2,3,4,5,6,10 Market Market
