Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 17, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BRAGGADOCIOS will go round odds on most likely and that’s always a risky proposition, especially with 2 year olds, however, his debut run was strong in Saturday grade behind a talented juvenile. Natural improvement makes his hard to beat. PRINCE ANDREI was never on the track at his most recent trial. Both outings have been promising so far. MIDNIGHT ROCKET was better than reads on paper on debut. Did a lot wrong, blinkers on should straighten him up. KAKADU gets a gun run box seating from the draw and went close last time out. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – BRAGGADOCIOS WIN Race 2 METRO BOY looked professional in his trial and is drawn to take up a prominent position in running. This looks the more evenly graded 2 year old race but on debut he can go close. DOUBLE BUBBLE went around largely untested at Belmont. Shook off Red Roar with relative ease but with the time they ran you’d hope there was plenty in the tank. DEANGLES looks to be going well at trials and is another drawn well. WAR SECRETS had a bit to offer when chopped out at his most recent trial. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – METRO BOY WIN Race 3 KING LOUIE didn’t look to run out a strong mile. Back in trip and reuinted with William Pike he gets yet another chance to win race number 2 in his career. DISCO RIFFIC should box seat from the draw and with the 3kg claim looks very well placed back sharply in grade. JENABEL has won two on the trot and should enjoy an economical run off the speed. JUST ELATED won well fresh but is a wet track specialist. Bureau isn’t predicting a lot of rain but if it does tumble it only enhances his chances. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – KING LOUIE WIN Race 4 ELECTRIC LIGHT looks classy and progressive. Both her final furlong sections have been very strong, however, she is yet to go round a horse. Both wins up the cutaway concerns and is likely to be deep in the red. SUPREME FORCE didn’t appear to handle the Pinjarra straight, never really accelerating and niggled at the entire. Suggest she is far better than that. GOODLUCK SIMBA has nice race form from last preparation and wasn’t asked for an effort at trials. METALLIC BELLE was gallant when hitting the front at the top of the straight last start, senior goes on too. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – DON’T Race 5 PRINCESS TARA trialed very well for her return and if the pattern of the day is winding up three wide then she’ll be suited. COUNTNESS NATASHA finally broke her maiden at start number 1 for Lou Luciani. She should be getting a near on identical run to last week and can make it two in a row. APOLLO has only put in 1 bad run recently and that was in strongly run race. SOUNDCHECK is drawn to get back in a fair bit of traffic. Probably going a shade below his best. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS TARA EACHWAY Race 6 SALON DU CHEVAL was 2 months between runs, lumped 59.5kg and had to tow the field up to a leader who broke the field open down the back. Was huge in defeat and this looks his for the taking. SATIRIC made a run at the 8000 in the Aquinita Stakes which was ultimately short lived. This is a far easier assignment. HALUSHI will run a cheeky race soon when he rolls forward to sit outside the speed. THREDS OF IVEY was a decent enough run in the Oaks and should sit close handy here. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – SALON DU CHEVAL WIN Race 7 PERSIAN PRINCESS is racing below her best and is very hard to catch at the best of times but going back through her form this is the easiest race she has met in a very long time. At her best she would be winning. KELLY’S GEM does look the obvious on paper. Dropping out of the Oak, back in class, back in trip and Pike back aboard. MR PAGO was always going to struggle in a Saturday 1200m race. Step up in trip right up his alley. JUICING CARROTS hit the line well in a race that was a sit sprint from the corner. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – PERSIAN PRINCESS EACHWAY Race 8 SUMMER’S DREAM has some wonderful 3 year old form lines to her name and the recent trial was strong. If Jordan Turner can get her across into a winnable position on speed she will be hard to toss. TURBO POWER backs up off 7 days and should box seat from the gate. DYNABELLE coming off 3 runs down the straight 5 may be better suited here. STOCKYARD GOSSIP is capable of running a race fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – SUMMER’S DREAM WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 5,6 1,3 7,9 2,3 Market Market
