Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on November 16, 2021November 16, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MAN CRUSH was an impressive trial winner at Belmont Park prior to his debut when drawn a wide gate and forced to do it tough in a race which was dominated from the front. Snowdome ran them along throughout and Street Parade got off his back and ran him down late in the race, with every other rival out the back chasing and struggling to make an impression. Considering the run he got Man Crush still hit the line well and in a far weaker race gets his chance. ITSATRAP gives Dion Luciani a chance of notching a third individual 2 year old winner this season. Gets them up and running, uses the 400m jump outs to wonderful effect and looks to have another jump and run Demerit filly (same as Pot Shot, same as Revitup). COSTUME PARTY looked to have a bit in the tank in her 400m jump out. VAMPI AT PLAY has been improving with each trial. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAN CRUSH WIN RACE 2 ROCKIN’ RUPERT is one that trial watchers have been waiting for since August when he belted stablemate Border Force by 4L. Had to wait until November to see him again when even more impressive, skipping clear to win by 6L. Looks to have a high cruising speed and an effortless change of gear. Likely to work forward and breeze outside of Wuhan Warrior and provided he doesn’t let him out of his sights expecting him to make a winning debut. WUHAN WARRIOR is a sharp little sprinter. Ran a luckless third to Storm Commander and Beads first-up, was caught in no-mans land second-up, beat Treasured Star by over 6L third-up and ran into talented 3 year old Trix Of The Trade fourth-up. Excellent use of the claim. STORY BOOK is a handy filly and her 400m jump out was sharp. TOWNSVILLE can follow the fence around. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROCKIN’ RUPERT WIN RACE 3 ACEFIRE will attract a lot of attention from punters after the tough effort behind Frigid and Dadirra last Thursday. Had an inexperienced 3kg claimer that day and was caught off the track throughout. Now W.Pike steers and the 2 year old SWP form behind Flying Missile and Desert Vixen as well as splitting Bopping Blue and Ultimate Command looks very strong for a 1200m maiden. Should get a more economical run and should be hard to beat. HOLA MAREA made his debut in a 3 year old Graduation and looked above average. Only finished 2L off The Lady Is A Vamp and Ponyo. NOBLE SCOT has come back to racing well. Wasn’t suited at York when crossed. MY BOY EDDY finds a new home. Undefeated at trials and clearly has ability. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – ACEFIRE WIN RACE 4 COLD SHIZZLE had three runs when last in work which produced a second placing to Ponyo (beating home Buzzoom), a third placing behind Ain’t No Other Man and Buzzoom (beating home Pale Rider) and a fourth placing behind Bandalera Miss. Hasn’t been asked for an effort in either trial when hitting the line under a hold. This is a much easier assignment than what he saw when last in work and he should enjoy the run of the race. BEAUTY IN ME got going late in her 1000m debut and the step to 1200m looks a positive. Hopefully can can settle a pair or two closer in the run which brings her right into the mix. ROEY CLAM met with support in pre-post betting in a 3 year old Grad first-up and had no luck in the run. BORDER FORCE was a hard trial to assess. Looks a floating type with a lot to learn. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – COLD SHIZZLE WIN RACE 5 CRYPTO QUEEN showed last start at Ascot that at this stage of her career she’s a 1000m horse. Didn’t get conditions to suit on Melbourne Cup Day, the rail was out, there was a SW breeze blowing and horses were swooping down the middle of the track. She was in trouble pre-race and then she was in trouble at the top of the straight. Drops back into a C1, crosses them with relative ease and should lead for a long way. ASTRAPE is extremely well placed by Danny Morton. Drops 2.5kg in weight and drops in grade from a 3 year old 0MWLY into a C1 1000. From the barrier Keshaw Dhurun should have her sitting close handy and provided he can get her to go straight she’ll be hard to hold out. WEDNESDAY is a talented mare. Trialled nicely behind Written Matter without blinkers. SATURN BLACK has always shown ability in her two preparation career. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – CRYPTO QUEEN WIN RACE 6 GO FORWARD won like a horse who is ready to go through the grades in WA. First-up in the State he put the writing on the wall with a barnstorming third behind Triple Missile and Forest War in a 60+ Graduation. Absolutely destroyed them on Cup Day when letting loose down the centre to win by over 3.5L in a dominant display. Actually drops in grade from a 0MWLY into a C3 in a genius piece of placement and can continue this massive run for Team Gangemi. SNIPAROOCHY was a shade disappointing last start. Sat outside the leader and was only fair in the finish. Finding the fence is a big difference and she should control the speed of this race. Expecting Jason Brown to slip clear and look the winner on straightening. STANDOUT ROSE is another who is well placed into a C3. Draw hurts but is offset by the claim. AIRLIE QUEEN can follow Sniparoochy around and does no work. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – GO FORWARD WIN RACE 7 BENJI’S showed huge potential when last in work. Stormed to the line on debut at Northam behind Rommel’s Command to miss by a head and then got the job done in a 1400m maiden 3 weeks later. From there was thrown in the deep end by Cliff Green, finishing fourth behind Graceful Girl, Billy Ain’t Silly and She’s God To You in a Raconteur Stakes and then sixth in a Belmont Guineas. Returns off the back of a solid trial and from the gate should enjoy a nice run midfield. This is a deep C1 but he’s going to be winning better races than this in time. DAIS sat over the top of a solid speed behind Nowhiteflag when stepping from a maiden into a Westspeed Platinum race at only start 3. She’s above average too. MEMORABLE MISS was savaging the line late when resuming at 1200 and is better suited at 1300. MAGIC TO EXCEED comes from a 3 year old 0MWLY into a C1 and looks like he’ll need further and further this preparation. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – BENJI’S EACHWAY RACE 8 INFLATION has pads on which is never ideal considering he’s a horse that has battled through feet troubles over the years, however, his first-up run against the pattern of the day was solid and historically he has always improved first-up to second-up. Couple that with the fact that he stays in the same grade and drops 3kg with the engagement of a well-regarded front running hoop in Holly Watson and he looks to have found a suitable assignment. SPECIAL PICTURE has been attacking the line in Saturday 60+ Graduation races recently and prior to that was chasing hard behind Big Screen in C3 company. All the form holds up and he’s going well. OFF WEGO chased hard behind a horse who will make it in town first-up at Geraldton. STELLAR VISTA is at crossroads with punters. Talented mare but doing a lot wrong. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – INFLATION EACHWAY RACE 9 MIRACLE MAN will be a galloper who divides opinion. On one hand he’s a 7 year old who hasn’t won in 700 days, on the other hand, he’s a horse who has raced almost exclusively in 66+, 72+ and 78+ grade over the last 3 years. His most recent run was in a 72+ when finishing 4L off Temptacion, Son of Bacchus, Midnight Blue and Roman Flirt. There’s an Ascot Gold Cup winner, RJ Peters Stakes second place getter and Railway acceptor and a York Cup runner up. Now or never for him. VINTAGE STOCK is frustrating to follow. She has the ability to win this but can be hit and miss in her racing. PRAYING WITH GOD drops a stack of weight after looming to them at York with 61kg. ANTIQUE JEWEL won a weak C1 last start when given every mortal hope. Gets the same map here. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – MIRACLE MAN EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,10 1,3,5,6,7,8 1,2,3,4,5,7 1,3,5,7,11 Market Market
