Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 16, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WINE NIGHT ran some sensational races against top notch 3 year olds when last in work for Justine Erkelens. Third when deep the trip in the Pinjarra Magic Millions behind Crpytic Wonder and Tommy Blue before again placed in the Challenge Stakes behind Superstorm and Naughty By Nature. Recent trial looked sharp and while 1000m is on the short side she looks a capable filly. SWEETASSA will take catching, there is no doubt about that. Was a soft trial winner before demolishing them at Northam. From the inside gate should again hold the top and is hard to beat. AMELIA BEDELIA will look to breeze as will NOBEL TIME who are both nice 1000m types. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – WINE NIGHT WIN RACE 2 FIRST LAW comes from a strong 2 year old race on debut when running a fast finishing fourth behind winners Dunbar, Chantorque and Born to Rule. That should be the strongest form reference in the race and he now has race experience. CONVALESCE ran a really good race on debut and from the gate gets every opportunity. RIP AND SNIP trialled well enough and the horse who beat him home ran a race on debut. TOWN HALL had absolutely no luck last start when over racing badly. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – FIRST LAW WIN RACE 3 UNIVERSAL PLEASURE was very impressive on debut when running a strong second to Sweetassa over 1000m. Should only get better and better with racing and the extra furlong helps a lot. That form could look even stronger after Race 1 and she looked at trials like a 1200 type with ability. THE SINGING TIGER has caught the eye at trials and should find a prominent position. SOUND AWAKE couldn’t have done much more on debut. WARCHINO next best. Numbers: 13 – 11 – 12 – 14 Suggested Bet – UNIVERSAL PLEASURE WIN RACE 4 JAGUAR GREY was simply run off her feet at a mile last start when chasing a silly top end tempo and having to make her run from the 600. Her effort was still full of merit and the leader responsible for that tempo Marxian is already a subsequent winner out of the race. Previous to that she ran an eye catching fourth to Bruce Almighty and Zephyr Queen. Shades first time, Yuill jumping on, willing to go again on the grey. DIVINE QUEST was heavily commissioned first-up when Laqdar Ramoly couldn’t get her moving when he wanted to. Was a blackbook type effort and senior goes on. ROCKY PATH has really strong 3 year old form. Only query on her is her racing pattern. SHOWZALI has been just fair so far. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – JAGUAR GREY WIN RACE 5 FORGOTTEN JEWEL is drawn in the car park but this is a very wide open event and most of the other fancies are also drawn awkwardly on paper. Could not have been more impressive on debut when leading throughout to score. Time was good enough, form of the beaten brigade stacks up and the recent trial was solid. THREE EZE looked like he was going to go straight past Foo Trouble first-up when jumping the grass at the infamous 150m. SILVER SCOUT was so impressive first-up and then a little flat second-up. Worth following up. CHIEF ARCHER didn’t fire a shot second-up. The fresh run was good. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – FORGOTTEN JEWEL WIN RACE 6 TURBO POWER is going well and this is a nice race for him. Three starts ago finished within half a length of Moschard, Sliced Bread and Festival Miss before winning a C5 beating subsequent winner Speedy Miss. Last start was held up behind tiring runners when Zephyr Queen was off and gone. Comes across and should prove hard to beat. SALAMAAT was beaten nearly 14L last start but still the run had merit. Was deep the trip chasing a very hot speed. Improver here back in grade. STAR GLITTER is well placed in a midweeker and does no work from the inside. BEAT THE BELL never got into the race last start, previous form strong. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 1 – 13 Suggested Bet – TURBO POWER WIN RACE 7 CELTIC DIVA continues to get better and better and is racing in faultless form in recent months. She gets back to last in her races which always brings an element of risk to a punting perspective but she’s a mare in form who is flying through the grades and travelling so impressively in her races. PORPHYRIO is on trial at the trip but everything Brett Pope it taking to the races is going super. Big run last start and see no reason why she won’t stay. PETTICOAT JUNCTION was beaten 6L last start but also didn’t enjoy the best of runs. MOSSERATTI is suited back in this grade. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – CELTIC DIVA WIN RACE 8 GOLDEN BONNEY looks a different horse since joining the stables of Jodie McLaughlin. Her last two efforts on heavily rain affected tracks have been excellent so if the storms do come late in the afternoon then her chances only enhance. Drawn perfectly with Pike aboard, no reason not to tip her here. CARLTON CASTLE will be testing a few punters patience but certainly looks like he is ready to win fourth up. DEMI GO ROUND doesn’t have numerical wet track form but if she can jump cleanly and lead she’s an improver after being attacked last start. ARTIE’S COMET is lightly raced and is showing a powerful turn of foot. Numbers: 13 – 5 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN BONNEY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,6,8,10 1,2,4,6,9,10,13 2,3 1,4,5,10,13 Market Market
