Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 2, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CHANTREA has her first start for Lindsey Smith’s stables having transferred across from Grant & Alana Williams. Settles toward the back in the small field and conditions should suit her perfectly to sit back and zap them late. First-up 1400 looks a great race for her but she will be very short. WESTERN CHANT has settled last first-up and second-up but could easily find the front here and lead them up. MISSALFIE chased hard last start and from the inside gate either kicks through or box seats. INTERSTATE comes back in trip and beats home the maidens. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – CHANTREA WIN RACE 2 SHE’S ENCHANTED vs NEW AMSTERDAM looks a really intriguing and exciting clash over the short course. Siding with SHE’S ENCHANTED who is drawn gate 1 and has the option to lead or box seat. Backs up off 7 days from her debut and ran into a crack maiden field of above average types (Bright Diamond, Big Man In The Sky, Hindsight Bias, Kohlee, Venetian Jewel). NEW AMSTERDAM was heavily commissioned on debut and ran a ripping race when getting through heavy traffic and flying late. Gets back but Belmont Park looks to suit and is the clear and obvious danger. TOVARICH is consistent. CHEEKY BLONDE can give cheek. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHE’S ENCHANTED WIN RACE 3 MISINFORMED BEN resumes and was an impressive trial winner at Lark Hill. Ran into some nice C1 types when last in work including Bee Quick and Yadreamin’. Gets weight relief with Madi Derrick on and winding up from the back should be a winnable position on Wednesday. THREE EZE has only had a 400m jump out heading into the races but form when last in work was strong including a fifth behind Sanabreanna, Massimo and Laverrod in the Lee Steere Stakes. Options from gate 1 and nicely placed. GLOBAL RULER will be one of the outsiders but ran well fresh. SKY DANCE backs up off 7 days and gets back on top of the ground. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISINFORMED BEN EACHWAY RACE 4 TOWN HALL has improved run to run and looks capable of stepping out to 1400. From the gate Chris Parnham can get him midfield covered up and then work his way to the outside at the right time. Chased hard behind Charleton Eddie, Miyagi and Dad’s Bigheaded. MIYAGI was a really good run in the same race and from the gate can position up closer in running. DAD’S BIGHEADED is thrown a tough draw to contend with but has always looked like he would eat up the ground. KALAROO caught the eye on debut when charging to the line and now third-up blinkers go on. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – TOWN HALL EACHWAY RACE 5 TRUTH AND LIES goes well fresh and only three starts ago in a Saturday 1000 finished a luckless third behind Plutocracy and Guns of Navarone, beating home Hoboken. That is strong form for a race like this and even with Pike riding should still open an eachway quote. NERODIO was a super trial and is undefeated at Belmont Park. The only query is bar plates going on but from the draw should get every chance in running. STABLE SECRET’s last win was in this grade at this track and distance. Big class dropper and ran well fresh behind Condor Heroes. STIRLING ESTATE is going well deep into his campaign. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – TRUTH AND LIES EACHWAY RACE 6 SPEEDY MISS drops from a C5 back into a C3 and reunites with Jade McNaught who rides her well. From the draw she should get the run she needs in transit to run a race. Loomed as the winner last start but was unable to get past Turbo Power. This race looks even more suitable and she should prove hard to hold out. HOTHAM VALLEY backs up from last Thursday when he was forced to tramp deep the trip. DEMI GO ROUND worked incredibly hard last start and gets it far softer here. BOLD SUCCESS needs serious luck from the draw but ran as well as Speedy Miss two starts back. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – SPEEDY MISS WIN RACE 7 LA VINA will be deep in the red and rightfully so off the back of her effort in the Listed Sheila Gwynne when running a narrow fourth behind Angelic Ruler, Flower of War and Festival Miss. Obvious selection back into a C1. DIVINE QUEST ran a great race first-up last preparation and the trial was quiet without his blinkers. Can run a race fresh. INDIGO WILD was far from disgraced in a Graduation last start. Maps perfectly and Mitch Pateman riding very well. MISS MANDY gets a soft run and has raced without luck. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – LA VINA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,7,8,12 2,3,4 4,5 1 Market Market
