Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 30, 2019July 31, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NOT MY FIGHT showed natural improvement at this second race outing when chasing behind talented pair Kelvin and Cryptic Wonder. Faces a few nice trailers on debut but that race was run 3 lengths above benchmark which is great going for the juveniles. Can give a sight here. NURHACI was a very impressive trial. Only been seen once publicly but that’s about as good as they trial. LONG BEACH is a regally bred Cerise and White youngster who also impressed at trials. Big winning chance. PLATINUM BULLET next best. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – NOT MY FIGHT EACHWAY Race 2 REGENT STAR has only won the 1 race from 36 outings but has finished in the money at 5 of his last 6 and is bursting to win a race. Stepping back out to a staying trip, drawn soft and in a weak race he gets his chance. MELTEME is a query at the trip but has been racing in strong mile events and was luckless last time out. THREADS OF IVEY was beaten out of sight into second last start but the winner looks a nice type and the race time suggests the form will hold up. ONYA HEAD looks likely to roll straight to the top and controls proceedings. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – REGENT STAR WIN Race 3 WAR ANTHEM was well backed first-up when only going fairly, unable to reel in the leaders up the cutaway. Second-up was again an encouraging effort but never really looked like winning. This is not a deep race and he again draws to get every conceivable. I HOPE YOU DANCE hit the line powerfully on debut, was strong outside the leader second-up and then a reasonable effort last week. Backs up off 7 days and has to be a big hope. BRUCE ALMIGHTY is drawn poorly but has early speed. TOO FAT TOO SLOW has shown some ability at trials. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – WAR ANTHEM EACHWAY Race 4 NEXT STOP THE MOON can cross them and take up the running here. Ran third in a fast run race behind a talented one in Uni Time last time out and looks better suited stepping to 1400m. ENSIGN PULVER was some win last start. Whiting gave him a peach but he finished powerfully from more than 9L off the leader at the 600. GOOD FORTUNE is a consistent type who is rarely beaten far. Went well fresh last start. BEANIE won strongly last start. Could be looking for further. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – NEXT STOP THE MOON WIN Race 5 PALACHINO, PERCEIVE, HEAVENLY AFFAIR and LOOKOUT look the four main chances in an evenly graded and relatively strong 3yo midweeker. PALACHINO comes out of a Saturday 62+ 3 year old race where finishing less than 3 lengths from Cryptic Love, Flower of War, Lipstick Flickers and Essential Spice. Gets off them but should wind up strongly. LOOKOUT should get the run of the race midfield and comes off an impressive effort last time out. PERCEIVE could roll forward from the awkward alley and bounce back. HEAVENLY AFFAIR is a promising filly drawn poorly. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PALACHINO EACHWAY Race 6 MAKE MINE CHAMPERS is a hard mare to catch but on her day she has far and away the best turn of foot in this race. If they’re making ground out deep on the track then she’ll be right in the mix. Has been racing in 60+ Graduations and stronger all preparation, including some eye catchers. KELLY’S SECRET was doing his best work late last week and on the quick back-up and up in distance looks suited. KLEVA KEZZA is only just going at the minute. She should be ready to produce her best. SARISKA is the blow out. Will be forgotten by the market and is horribly out of form but has the turn of foot to win. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MAKE MINE CHAMPERS WIN Race 7 LIPSTICK FLICKERS absolutely bolted in a C3 race two starts ago when drawing wide, coming out running and punching the breeze. Last start went within a half length of a Saturday 3 year old win and now back to C3 grade looks awfully hard to beat. I’M PRETTY jumps off the page as a big and legitimate danger. Can sit closer than she has been and is showing a powerful finishing burst. PATRISTIC can improve back in trip and fresh. DEMI GO ROUND trialed brilliantly recently and will be a massive price for a genuine and consistent mare. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 6 – 14 Suggested Bet – LIPSTICK FLICKERS WIN Race 8 EXPRESS FLIRT went through the grades last preparation with a number of eye catching wins. Suited over further but fresh here is drawn to wind up three deep with cover and simply runs for W.Pike. GILLESPIE has been burning loyal followers this preparation but a number of them have been luckless runs. Draws gate 1 to stalk the speed and should be afforded every opportunity. ADVOCATOR hasn’t been seen since breaking maiden status. Some of the efforts in Saturday 3 year old grade rate brilliantly for this. DE ANDES was completely unsuited last week and was brave in defeat. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 15 – 3 Suggested Bet – EXPRESS FLIRT WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,4,6,7 2,5 2,8 2,3,5,7,10,13,15 Market Market
