Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on May 28, 2019May 30, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HOLY GHOST was very impressive in a recent trial when skipping away after sitting outside the leader. Either leads or box seats from the draw and sure to be hard to beat. COMES A TIME was absolutely eye catching in the same trial. The only concern is that he was slowly away but juveniles rarely trial that well. AMELIA BEDELIA is undefeated after three trials and will be right in the finish. ANGEL JUPITER has shown ability in races but runs into some nice trailers. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – HOLY GHOST WIN Race 2 SUPER TEROITOA has obviously had his fair share of issues, being a 6 year old having start number four but it was hard to miss his effortless recent trial effort when tramping wide and untested. MEGACHINO is bursting to win a race. Interesting move back to 1000 but may be suited sitting off them. FALSE STATEMENT showed an abundance of speed in a recent trial to win in slick time. Hard to run down if finding the front. INDIGO WILD went well fresh down the straight. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – SUPER TEROITOA EACHWAY Race 3 SHOWMANSHIP is another Bob Peters juvenile being rolled out late in the season. It is normally around this time of year that the Cerise and White go through a purple patch and he looks like one who will win on debut. COCKY DODD can do a bit wrong but if he has improved with a spell he could come back a nice type. KAKADU was never in it first up but back in grade could be an improver at a price. SHAPITA was a shade disappointing fresh. No surprise to see her bounce back. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SHOWMANSHIP WIN Race 4 I’M ICEY will need some luck in the early stages to get across from the awkward draw but suspect Steve Parnaham will find the spot outside the leader, at worst, and from there he will be hard to beat. TRILLY FILLY went well first-up in a fast run race. Will get off them but looks to have returned well. LIPSTICK FLICKERS was disappointing at her Harvey debut. She’s better than that. CRYPTO will come with one run late. May have to get a fair way back. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – I’M ICEY WIN Race 5 REBEL YELL should get a soft run from the gate and raced well and consistently all of last preparation. Stable produced him as first-up winner off a 400m jump out last preparation and can do the same here. CHISANO will be hard to run down. Jason Brown goes on for the first time this preparation and should find the top. SNOWCHINO was a big effort in the Pinjarra Magic Millions race. Keep safe here. BEAT THE BELL is suited over a bit further but can race well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – REBEL YELL WIN Race 6 BRITISH BESSY is yet another favourite who looks mighty hard to roll. Has always shown above average staying ability and bolted in her maiden. Can sit just behind the leaders and grind them into the ground. VISION AND PRAYER has shades on and a noted front running rider engaged. If she can bounce to the front she’ll be hard to run down. JACKA’S MOB will race on the speed and give a sight. SATIRIC didn’t handle the York track by the looks and previous effort was strong. Numbers: 3 – 12 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BRITISH BESSY WIN Race 7 DEVOTED STAR was big first-up. Huge drifter in the market after a pair of lackluster trials. Looks as though she will get out over a bit further than 1400m but if she reproduces the run she’ll be hard to beat. PLAYING MARIKA is a big danger and likely to open a generous price. Beaten a long way first-up but behind some smart 3 year olds and this is miles easier. GATES OF BABYLON smashed the clock leading last start. Can make it two in a row. THE REAL ZEEL hit the line well fresh. Numbers: 13 – 2 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – DEVOTED STAR WIN Race 8 STORM DANCER was a nice winner first start for the Pearce stable when Pike was aboard and gave him a world perfect run. He stepped up to Saturday grade 5 weeks between runs and never got warm. Can bounce back. STOICISM is the logical danger. Finished off alright first-up and then won impressively second-up. Has raced consistenly well since joining Martin Allan. HONORFIC loves the mile at Belmont but first-up is set a task. OUR MATE AL gets back but is building. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – STORM DANCER WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,6,7 3 2,4,13 1,2 Market Market
