Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on August 7, 2018August 8, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CRISTAL DANE was super impressive on debut and then put the writing on the wall with an emphatic last to first trial win. Drawn soft with the option of the cutaway, big chance. ONE POINT LADY sat wide throughout at trials and was still too good. Trialed in winkers but races without. PRINCE ANDREDI sat outside a fairly strong tempo fresh and did well to battle on. CLASSIC JACK comes from the same race and can improve up in trip. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CRISTAL DANE WIN Race 2 STELLA ANNE was big two starts ago in a hot Saturday form race and then was never a winning chance when settling last at her most recent. Drawn to sit much closer here and gets her best opportunity. BLANKENBERGE was well thought of on debut and didn’t really fire a shot. Never asked for an effort at trials and looks the danger. STARTORIO was an impressive trial tramping deep throughout. Drawn awkwardly here. GLOBAL RULER hit the line hard at start number two. Numbers: 10 – 11 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – STELLA ANNE EACHWAY Race 3 FA’LION MASCHINE came from a strong form reference at Pinjarra and tramped wide throughout at Northam. Step up in trip looks to suit. DECEPTION GAME trialed behind a very good one in Mr Genoa and then was far from disgraced on debut. Doesn’t look to have a great turn of foot so you would image that Pike takes her straight to the front. GEOGRAPHE BAY has looked the winner at his past two and not been able to get the job done. TOTAL DISC can get through the going and has been finishing on well. Numbers: 6 – 13 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – FA’LION MASCHINE WIN Race 4 TRUE IMAGE went under on debut as an odds on favourite and will certainly go round at a similar quote. Apart from pocket talkers lost no admirers and should zip up the cutaway. HONGLONG did it tough last start in a race which was dominated from the front and up the fence. TWENTYTHREE RED has some handy 3 year old form lines from last preparation and trialed well. MOONDA MISS comes from the same trial and looked to be going alright. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – TRUE IMAGE WIN Race 5 DOUBLE BUBBLE is one from one, settles right on top of the speed and probably even leads. She looks a handy type who will improve with racing and it will take a pretty good effort to run her down. Can’t imagine black figures however. MORE BXAAR was unlucky first-up in a quality Saturday line up and then almost zapped Glasgow Girl down the centre of the track last start. KATUSHA is suited over further but suspect she is going to go through the grades this preparation. COSMIC EYES belted a bunch of battlers in Kalgoorlie but did it in style. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE BUBBLE WIN Race 6 CRYSTAL SPIRIT makes his WA debut with just under two months between runs. Perfectly placed by an astute punting stable. Has never seen a race this weak and it would shock if he didn’t jump odds on. WILD FRONT is a logical danger leading and rolling. Gets through the going and could pinch a break. FUTURIST looked plain on paper last start but breaking down the sectionals went extremely well. FALSE STATEMENT is yet to run a bad race and should hit the line hard. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – CRYSTAL SPIRIT WIN Race 7 IT’S GOT IT ALL met with strong support first-up in a far tougher race than this. Drops from an open 3yo race into a 56+ and if Jason Brown finds the front from gate 7 it could be curtains. DON’T FUSS is perfectly suited in this grade. Has contested tougher than this and acquitted himself well. STATE ATTORNEY was rolled in the red multiple times last preparation but improved at every start. Trialed well for his return. WEST FIFTH FOURTH fresh, no trial, drawn the cutaway and O’Donnell on first time. Must include. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – IT’S GOT IT ALL WIN Race 8 FLYING TIME is in career best form and with all the rain around recently it only enhances his chances of winning another race before retirement. Likely positions outside the leader and will be pouring the pressure on. SUPER MAXI is that likely leader and his effort in defeat behind sprinting revelation Ambiente was strong. Is a heavy track winner so no worries with the conditions. CAIPIRINHA is the best horse in this race but the map is ugly for her. Likely midfield in the three wide train. YEAH DARDY is racing well outside the handicap and risks in the vicinity of 15 points should he win. Gets a soft run and waits for the cutaway. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – FLYING TIME WIN Race 9 RUBIA MISS tramped wide without cover the entire last start and was gallant to finish as close as she did. Imagine that Carbery can slide straight to the top if that’s where he wants to be. ROSE’S SHADOW improved throughout the preparation last campaign. Trialed well for his return. SORDELLO is in the twilight of his career but going very well and is a proven runner for Smith. STOCKYARD GOSSIP won well first-up no trial and should get a soft run. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – RUBIA MISS EACHWAY Race 10 TAXADERMY third-up in his preparation and back into a midweeker is sure to make his presence felt. Can settle over the speed and Smith makes use of the luxurious 1.5kg claim for Jordan Turner. HAY MAGIC has been going well from well off them recently. Claiming apprentice replaced by a senior makes him the sharp improver. SENSE OF POWER shoots for three straight. Stepping out to a mile shouldn’t pose a problem but the draw is sticky. CHARLESTOWN was a nice trial for a stayer. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – TAXADERMY WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 1,7,8,11 1,4,6 1,3,5,6,9,10 1,3,8 Market Market
