Trialled enormous heading into this preparation and then lost the rider first-up in a race which has produced subsequent winner Lord Gannicus and the Belgravia second place getter in Man Crush (split Amelia’s Jewel and Snowdome). Big win last start and is still improving with racing. AMJAAD trialled well leading into her return to racing. Sat back in the trial and was floating along before hitting the line under a hold. Went to the races and ran down a handy one in The Desert Fox (who was plunged for victory on Sunday at Northam) and looks to have found another suitable assignment second-up. PLAYHOUSE PATRON was beaten a nose by Demolish and they meet again on level weights. CENTRAL FORCE has a sticky alley. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DEMOLISH WIN RACE 2 SPEAK TO ME has caught the eye at trials. Finished second to Uncle Gerard after sitting back and working through traffic and then finished third last Monday when making good late ground under little riding. Has been slowly away at trials but in his favour is barrier number one and the cutaway being in play. If he can punch through underneath to hold a position he looks capable of running a race on debut. SAMARIA was far from disgraced on debut behind Baalbek and Rupert’s Empire. Got loose last Wednesday and was a late scratching. Now has shades on. FIELD OF BATTLE clearly has ability and ran well behind Miss Drakova and Fluro Neuro in what should prove a strong form race. LUCKY FOO FOO comes from the in form Lou Luciani yard. Keep safe. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPEAK TO ME EACHWAY RACE 3 KOSTA’S CROWN has been repeatedly referred to as the best credentialled maiden in Western Australia. Third to Street Parade and Snowdome. Third to Left The Building and Street Parade (Listed Perth Stakes). Fourth to Amelia’s Jewel, Baby Paris and Penny On The Queen (Group 2 Karrakatta). Third to Snowdome and All The King’s Men (Group 3 WA Sires). Finally drops back into an All-Age maiden and hopefully Wednesday is his day. GREY MISTRESS is a capable filly. Love the way she attacked the line with a long sustained run at Northam. Obvious danger. MYSTIC JANE can find the top and control. ARGENT SAUVAGE has been trialling well. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – KOSTA’S CROWN WIN RACE 4 SISU WARRIOR had three runs when last in work and was able to gun down highly promising gelding Leniency with 59kg on a Heavy10. Finished his preparation only 4L off Placid Ark contender Baby Paris and was winding up nicely late in his recent trial. Will sit back and come with a big late run. SUCCESS PLAY is better known as a 1400m type but his fresh run at 1200 when last in work was a ripper. Can definitely play a part in this. TIFFANY STREET is racing below her best. If it’s a swoopers track she’s right in the mix. SUNNY HONEY has the cutaway on offer and trialled well alongside Invincible Ruby. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SISU WARRIOR WIN RACE 5 UPPER LIMITS went from a 3 year old maiden straight into a 3 year old Plate when finishing a luckless third behind All The King’s Men and Saintorio. That pair likely progress to next weekend’s Fairetha Stakes and Upper Limits drops out into a C1. Will need an ounce of luck from a tricky draw but looks progressive and extremely well placed. TOO MUCH TALK looms as the obvious danger on paper. Big winner first-up no trial and the second placed horse Birkett Boy was $7 into $2.60 at his next start when bursting through to win. Big respect. VITAL GEM should be suited by cutaway racing. MAGICAL GEM an improver. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – UPPER LIMITS WIN RACE 6 BIRKETT BOY came through a slick trial over 950m alongside Sentimental Belle when finishing second to Too Much Talk on debut. That 1300m maiden was run 3.5L faster than average and unsurprisingly he was attacked by punters in betting at his second start when plunged from $7 into $2.60 and working his way through traffic late to score. Looks a horse on the rise and meets a fairly moderate line-up. Can go through his grades. GLENBURN HOTEL was popular in betting last start but the poor punters who got involved were left to lick their wounds after he was turned sideways in the home straight unable to find clear galloping room at any stage. Looks ready. RELIABLE CHOICE finds this easier than her last start. PAIGEY’S TURN an improver off the 7 day back-up. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – BIRKETT BOY WIN RACE 7 TIFF’S LAD was the target of astute money first-up no trial when matching motors with Recalled the entire home straight, just unable to reel him in. Since then he’s been a touch stiff from leader’s back when splitting subsequent winners Jack In The Black and Mr Fahrenheit and then was held up the entire length of the home straight in the Popcorn Tender race which 5 of his rivals come through. Senior rider on, gets another chance. ROCH LEGACY was equally bolting behind them with nowhere to go in that race. Should only improve as they step him up in trip. BEANIE was savaging the line down the outside. LORD GANNICUS brings the alternate form. Improving with race experience. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – TIFF’S LAD WIN RACE 8 MICHELADA had no luck first-up when parked three deep the trip in a muddlingly run race. Second-up she gets weight relief with Holly Watson jumping on, draws to box seat Agent Jay and Critical Altitude and has the cutaway on offer which suits a mare like her with a turn of acceleration. Nice set up for her. HAMMARMILL is a talented mare resuming. She’s got a sharp L600 on her and Laqdar rides the cutaway well. AY TEE EMM followers (and there’s plenty) will be hoping that it’s an old fashioned swoopers day with the rail out. If it is he’s very dangerous late.
