Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 18, 2022October 18, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JURUENA GOLD backs up from what should be a strong form race. Finished off hard into fourth behind Miss Drakova, Fluro Neuro and Field of Battle. All three of those look like horses who will win multiple races and the step to 1400m looks ideal. The fact there is a cutaway assists and he’ll no doubt be popular in betting. STORM LEADER might get under the guard. His debut effort was good enough in another hot form race (Upper Limits, Ex Sport Girl, Sentimental Belle, Amelia’s Trust) and should only improve for the outing. ROYAL ELITE will sit back and have last crack at them. OPTIMAL found traffic at York and finished off impressively. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – JURUENA GOLD WIN Race 2 FASHION STAKES follows the same winner producing profile as Nunes and Miss Drakova last Wednesday. 3 year old filly taking on the older horses in an All-Age maiden with only 54kg on her back. Thought her recent trial was strong and her third placing behind One Cool Gal and Solid Gold reads up well for this. With the rail at 15m it could turn into a 3 deep cover sort of day and that would suit a filly like her. SAMARIA will take luck out of the equation and roll to the top. Sound effort on debut. KEEP IT HUSH is a long time maiden but is honest. OUQBURRA was looking for further fresh. Numbers: 13 – 11 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – FASHION STAKES WIN RACE 3 GIVEMEONEREASON looks the kind of sprinter who will continue to improve with race experience. This is a great opportunity to settle midfield and allow the speed to unfold before coming with a big turn of acceleration. With Red Hot Goods, Baalbek and Universal Flair likely to lock horns it’ll be a genuinely run race and he should settle nicely. MY BELLA MAE has caught the eye on numerous occasions at trials. Likely to park in behind them and should get a run through when they fan along the cutaway. ROCKON MOLLY was a quiet trial and has some nice 2 year old form to her name. RED HOT GOODS only knows one way. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – GIVEMEONEREASON WIN RACE 4 SAVANIK hit the line full of running first-up in a 66+ 1200 behind All The King’s Men when settling second last and passing the majority of runners in the run to the post. Last start drew wide, settled last in a capacity line-up and was beaten over 6.5L but behind Karli’s Karma (big winner at both starts back from a spell and headed to the Asian Beau) and Brooklyn Pier (almost held out Trix Of The Trade on Saturday). Nice race for her. GREEN AND SHADY can be hard to catch but on his day he’s a talented galloper. Likely to settle midfield and wait for runs to appear on straightening. SCORPION STORMZ likely lands one out and one back. SEA WAIF should roll to the top. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – SAVANIK WIN RACE 5 INVINCIBLE RUBY was a highly impressive debut winner in a 3 year old 0MWLY on a Heavy track with 57kg. Carries the same weight at her return against the older horses in a C1 1000 and thought her most recent trial was really good. Matched motors with Sunny Honey and they skipped away from talented mare Category Three late. Cutaway style of racing helps a filly like her. SKY DUKE has had two trials to prepare for his return. Can take up a forward position and was a dominant all the way winner on debut as a 2 year old. REGAL ACCESS trialled the house down and can burn across into a position over the speed. SAASMIT next best. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE RUBY WIN RACE 6 ONE COOL GAL comes through the 3 year old Classic. Snowdome, All Show, Laced Up Heels, Rumour Says, Top Of The Pops…it’s a hot form reference race and even though she didn’t beat a horse home she was only 6.5L off them in the finish and all things considered she didn’t get much luck at any stage in running. Better suited at 1200, back sharply in grade and is versatile. If it’s 3 deep swoopers she can be ridden accordingly. PICK YOUR BATTLES is a hard horse to hold out on his day. Hard not to like his trial and always like seeing Paul Harvey jump aboard. DREAM EVIL won first-up last preparation and the preparation before. Gets a soft run midfield cover. ALL METAL was never in the race last week. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – ONE COOL GAL WIN RACE 7 GALAXY AFFAIR is currently E1 and is the likely favourite and horse to beat, making this race very hard to assess. Siding up with GETYOURMONEYANDRUN who went to York last start and lumped 60.5kg up on the speed on a day where the majority of winners were swooping down the outside late. Thought he was brave and Paul Hunter clearly has him going well. Honest type and goes round eachway. WINNING ACES a big chance if it’s swoopers down the centre. ALMAHER MAN joins the yard of Todd Harvey for new connections. Should have some fun with him. Numbers: 2 – (13) – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – GETYOURMONEYANDRUN EACHWAY RACE 8 HEAPS OF MOOLAH is likely to cross these without doing too much work in running. From there he’s rock hard fit and can get them chasing a fair way out. Beaux Edwards rides him well and it gives her a wonderful sighter into her first winner as a senior jockey. ADMIRED was enormous last Wednesday. Charged to the line first-up at 1800 and considering that Troy Turner lost the off-side iron at the 400m it was a huge effort (horse and rider). SO SCHMICK is about ready. WOODRUFF was travelling into it nicely last week before being chopped out on straightening. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – HEAPS OF MOOLAH EACHWAY RACE 9 VITALIZE has put the writing on the wall at her last two starts. Broke her maiden in style and then charged to the line when beaten a nose by Aiyza before being competitive in a C3 only 7 days ago. Backs up, drops in grade and should enjoy a soft run midfield with cover. From there Stevie Parnham can pick his path through traffic and she should be hitting the line hard. PAIGEY’S TURN can be hit and miss but on her day she’s got a good L600 on her. Kind of mare who should be suited by rail out midweek racing. CLASSIC ENCOUNTER is only a Geraldton maiden winner but looks to be improving. VEVINSKY may need further. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – VITALIZE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,7,9 2,3,4,5,10,(13) 1,4,11 5,10,11 Market Market
