Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on December 12, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ARSINOE looks like she will appreciate the extra trip here after being unable to reel in strong leader and winner Beat the Devil at Northam. Her first-up win was soft and she looks to have a future. FAIREDU has been crunched in betting at her past two and won well after a J.Brown special last start. ARCHANT improved out of sight when allowed to roll with shades on. Expecting similar tactics from Pateman here. FINGERMARK better suited here than the Guineas. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – ARSINOE WIN Race 2 MOLTEN was scratched from a 72+ race on Saturday to be saved for this moderate Class 3 event. He cops the big weight and this is probably a touch short of his best distance but looks the one to beat at his WA debut. CITICHANT is a 1000m horse. She won well last start and that form is strong. MAGIC PLANET finally broke through for a deserved win last start. Sits deep the trip and keeps coming. ARAFURA is probably not suited drawing gate 1, likes room to move. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MOLTEN WIN Race 3 FAMILY DISCUSSION has run some big races in a short career. There are a few handy maidens in this field but trialed well and should get a nice run just off the speed. DIAPARA was unable to get into a fast run race on debut and looked all at sea. Trial before that was excellent. TYCOON MAKIADO will be winning race and he can go close fresh. GUNFLINT was attacked a long way from home at Albany on a day when the fence was poison. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FAMILY DISCUSSION EACHWAY Race 4 WILDONBROOK was scratched from a winnable maiden at Pinjarra on Sunday to tackle this race. Trialed very well without blinkers and they go on for race day. If the leaders are getting away from them she’ll be hard to catch. PICASSO BAY has always promised a lot since her brilliant debut but raced well below her best last campaign. Shades on and was lit up in a recent trial win. EXPLOSION ran into a nice one last start in a race which should prove strong form. INFINITE BEAUTY will need further but follow her into the preparation. Numbers: 15 – 10 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – WILDONBROOK EACHWAY Race 5 HOODLUM THUNDER returned to some of his better form last start when he finally looked to travel in the run again. Went through a long period where he was ungenerous in running. Gets his chance here. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON was extremely short first-up and took the entire straight to get over them. Did run through the line strongly but this is tougher. RAHEEBA LAS VEGAS has run three more than reasonable races since arriving in WA. Can be the blowout. SAN CRISPINO went well fresh but not convinced the fence will suit. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – HOODLUM THUNDER WIN Race 6 MISTY LAD has to be hard to run down. By this stage punters will know if the fence is the place to be. Emma Stent is riding well at the minute and is not afraid to let them run in front. TIME TO HUNT arguably has the best race form in the race and after a short freshen up is reunited with Jarrad Noske and falls into a winnable race. Should be there abouts in an even field. CRYSTAL VALLEY showed two starts ago that she is ready and this is far more suitable than the graduations on Saturdays. COLLABORATE just needs to sit in the field. Senior rider should be able to hold him. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – MISTY LAD WIN Race 7 DISTANT TRILOGY is perfectly placed to break back into the winners circle. Was only beaten a neck by Pearls and Prawns in a high rating graduation race last start and then was backed strongly in a Road to Ascot heat. Sits midfield and should go very close. SCARLET MISSILE was a big drifter first-up but with the blinkers on she could improve sharply second-up. ROSEBUSH won her maiden well and then went close to making it two on the bounce. DRIFTWOOD GIRL should charge late. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – DISTANT TRILOGY WIN Race 8 KLONDIKE KENNY was a nice run first-up in a Saturday race when held up at crucial stages and was left looking for a run in the striaght. Can get into the three wide train here and wind up over the top of them. ALTA SULL’AMORE has come back a bigger and better horse this preparation. Belted them on Melbourne Cup day in similar race conditions and then went well sectionally last start. CHECKERS steps up to closer to his pet distance and has run well at both starts for a new camp. BEAT THE DEVIL won well fresh, could be looking for further. Numbers: 9 – 14 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – KLONDIKE KENNY EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5 1,4,7 1,6 2,5,6,7,8,9,14 Market Market
