Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 17, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 DIAMOND TRADE looks to have really found her race. She has been solid all preparation in the Saturday metro maidens and this does look like weaker opposition than she has met recently. 1500 looks perfect, draws an ideal gate and when they fan on the cutaway she’ll get a crack. PHANTOM’S STAR looks an ideal three back the fence, cutaway type and senior rider on is key. MAGIC’S HERITAGE will take catching if it is leaderish at Ascot. SHADOW SHIFTER is better than the runs this preparation. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND TRADE WIN Race 2 IMA SINGLE MAN looks to have a stack of raw ability but immaturity and inexperience are the two big queries on him. Looks like he has the gate speed to hold a position from the inside and if he can race genuinely and tractably he looks very hard to beat. OUR BOY DYLAN was unlucky to run into a filly as good as Solaia on debut. TALKALLYOUWANT trialed well for debut. COMEALILBITCLOSER returns first-up no trial for an inform stable. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – IMA SINGLE MAN WIN Race 3 RED HOT TIP improved sharply last start when the shades went on and stepping up in trip looks ideal. That race was actually run over 5L faster than maiden average and with scratchings he comes right into the mix. SHAKE THE BLOOM is a staying filly who you know will see out the trip. SHOWADDYWADDY has improved with every outing and was the beneficiary of a C.Parnham special last start lifting her home. GALAHS DO ROAR was set alight at Esperance against the older horses and fought on well. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – RED HOT TIP WIN Race 4 SEMIGEL has been bursting to win a race and with Pike going on, back to 1000m gets his chance. Effort two starts back to Ziebell and Wiener Waltz was super. EXPRESS TIME was hard to miss at trials. Always wary of jumping into a ‘special’ trial (Olga Lousia, Driftstar, Saracino, list goes on) but her debut win was strong and this doesn’t look the deepest race. Interesting to see how she is ridden at the races. MELODY’S SECRET maps to get the identical run as last week when winning. ANGELIQUE’S FAME better suited back in midweek grade. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SEMIGEL WIN Race 5 SON OF A GOD won well first-up off the back of a pair of super trial efforts. The time he ran suggests he’ll take a stack of beating again here. EXCELLENT DREAM drops from a C3 back into a C1 but the draw makes it a little bit more interesting. Has a stack of ability but is still fairly green. PURE DYNAMITE has put in two super runs this time in. Very hard to knock the form. LONDON MISS caught the eye after bombing the start fresh. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SON OF A GOD WIN Race 6 TIME TO SIZZLE is best left alone to sizzle along to her own beat. She was paddling late last start but held on to win over Baby Blues who won at her next start. Back to 1000, jump and run. SHE’S VITAL is a 1000m cutaway type of horse. Dangerous at a big price. ORANGE STRUDEL continues to loom the winner and pinches one soon. METRO BOY draws wide for a 3kg claiming apprentice but best form is easily good enough to win this. Numbers: 11 – 6 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – TIME TO SIZZLE WIN Race 7 SAKARYA should lead and run them along and takes running down. Last start ran the mile at Bunbury over 4L faster than average and was only gunned down by a horse on the rise in Tollman. Nice option for her. ALTAMONT is E1 but if he gains a start is right in the mix. Huge run last week. I AM SPARTACUS should box seat behind Sakarya and take the cutaway underneath her. LYLE’S CHOICE steps up sharply in grade coming out of a maiden win. Numbers: 2 – 12 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SAKARYA WIN Race 8 REVEUSE finds it hard to win (1 from 20) but three starts ago placed in a Graduation 60+ behind Morning Song and Barbie Will Do and last start ran second to previous Pinjarra Cup winner in Plays The Game. Month between runs, staying trip back to a mile and drawn the cutaway, should be going close. DYNAMIC FORCE is a 3 year old who is improving with racing and takes running down. MISS DOMINICAN draws wide but comes out of a Listed 3 year old fillies race. KRAKKAS was bolting last start. If he gains a start is a blow out. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – REVEUSE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3 1,6,8,11 1,2,6(12) 3,4,7,(12) Market Market
