Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 5, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 UNI TIME showed ability at trials and really picked up late in the piece. Is dictated to from the gate but that may be a blessing in disguise if they go slow and the swoopers come late. LOOKOUT has wonderful 2 and 3 year old race form. Gets the run of the race and has to go close here. DANI BELLA went well in a tougher 3 year old race last week and backs-up off 7 days. SHUWISH was a nice trial when doing things wrong, looks to have ability. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 10 – 13 Suggested Bet – UNI TIME WIN Race 2 METRO BOY picks himself on paper but expecting him to open deep in the red and remain there. His first-up effort sees him win and win soft. LOOKSUOVER went well fresh and that form looks great now. PRECIOUS LIBERTY was in the same race and was not quite as good. YOU NO WHAT I MEAN found a lot of traffic last start and could be the improver. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – METRO BOY WIN Race 3 DASHIO was very good first-up. That race was a wonderful example of an exciting apprentice vs a strong, hungry senior rider. She should sit midfield and even if she’s caught deep can keep coming. STARES ANDWHISPERS will find this a lot easier than recent assignments. DIAPARA flew late down the 1000m straight to win impressively. WILDONBROOK is unlikely to lead and so does it tough. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – DAISHIO WIN Race 4 PATIENCE PHILLIPS is a nice mare in the making. She has the turn of foot to be winning plenty of races and this looks a suitable one for her. NO MEAN FEET broke through emphatically and the form around him is strong. He can lump the weight and win. TYCOON LEGEND never saw daylight last Wednesday. Rail at 14m should suit those down the middle so no doubt Peter Hall stays wide. TRADE PRIZE could be an improver at odds. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – PATIENCE PHILLIPS WIN Race 5 WITHOUT REASON should be too big and too strong for these and make the jump from maiden company into a Class 1. He looks like the kind of horse who will only get better with racing. Draw makes things interesting but even sitting deep shouldn’t worry him. LANGLEY does not know how to win but the stable is in form and he’ll cart up three wide. APPARITION went alright last start in a fast run race. BLOOMY’S SUN fresh and back in trip improves. Numbers: 6 – 12 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – WITHOUT REASON WIN Race 6 VINTAGE STOCK has always looked like she would make a handy stayer in time and her last start was impressive once she finally got clear. Banking on the swoopers to be in play all day and she can run over the top. DEIMOS is likely to be back there with her and his last start run was enormous. SUMMIT TRAIL should get a soft run just behind the speed. SAN CRISPINO will be plugging away over the speed. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 5 – 13 Suggested Bet – VINTAGE STOCK WIN Race 7 MEDIA BARON was a ‘get on me next start’ kind of run fresh. He was storming late and should get conditions to suit here. Nice horse worth following into the preparation. STRATOCREED was well commissioned in Saturday grade last start and prior to that beat an emphatic subsequent winner. SUPERIOR SMILE was brilliant fresh and is capable of carrying weight. DEBELLATION is a Group 3 winner in a restricted 58+. If he has anything in the tank he has to run a race. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MEDIA BARON WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,8 6 3,8 1,3,4,5 Market Market
