Scott Embry’s Thursday York Preview Posted on May 18, 2021May 18, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ISCHINVA VIEW has shown real glimpses over two preparations. The most recent run when third behind Justhandy and Trevern one of the better efforts. From the draw can stay in touch and these maiden handicaps are a ‘drop in grade’ from the set weights versions. EXQUISITE STAR wasn’t the worst trial you’ll see. The fourth at the end of last preparation was alright. PRIVATE NUMBER has always promised a bit but not been able to deliver. Straight to the top for Chloe Azzopardi. MUDCHUKKA an improver at big odds. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – ISCHINCA VIEW WIN RACE 2 CHOIX DE LACE is speedy. 1200m is on her limit (or beyond it) but with the downhill circuit at York if they allow her to cross without doing too much early work then she can pinch a very weak race. ETHICAL SECRET is honest and consistent. Backs up off 7 days and has shown versatility in the past. Doesn’t need to be a star to be winning this. YOYOS has been beaten in Albany maidens recently. Looked to have something at trials but yet to really show it. ARAMAT comes from similar Albany maiden quality and hasn’t been far away. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHOIX DE LACE WIN RACE 3 WHAITIRI went around 100-1 first-up off the back of a reasonable little trial. The effort to get within 2.5L was outstanding, especially considering the fact it was awfully hard to make an inch at that Pinjarra Park meeting. Drops 1kg into this race, gets out further to 1500m and while she is drawn horrendously she just need an ounce of luck in running to play a part at a price (if she can reproduce). BARONOVA was held up at crucial stages in the race last start for a filly who looks like she needs to wind up and go through her gears. THEHUNTSMEN seems to put in a run fresh. TACTICAL PLOY with the senior on an improver. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – WHAITIRI EACHWAY RACE 4 NIYACHI was the on top selection two starts ago in a similar 52+ at Narrogin. Was $15 into $5 and is still looking to get clear. Touch watch but that’s racing. Last start went to a much tougher and deeper C5 at Pinjarra when finishing 2L off Zackariah Beau, Rewrite The Stars and Sir Mambo. Clearly going well. We’ll follow up. NEUROLOGIC has the senior rider on and Mitch Pateman in front is hard to beat at any track, let alone on a leader’s track. CHOKSLAM is a hard mare to follow but does have ability. EXCERPT resuming with a stack of gear changes next best. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – NIYACHI EACHWAY RACE 5 SANS LE SOU is double nominated for Pinjarra Wednesday and York Thursday. Prayers that Adam Durrant scratches Wednesday because this race is hers for the taking. Drawn a gate to stalk the speed, proven in higher grade than this and with Lies N Deception and Gods Business likely to run them along she sneaks up behind and should be too classy. GODS BUSINESS ran well on debut and then wasn’t disgraced last time out. STUMBLE is getting under the radar and the claim helps. LIES N DECEPTION is suspect at 1200 but will lead for a long way. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SANS LE SOU WIN RACE 6 KICK A GOAL SON was thrown in the deep end last start. Ran into Divine Pair, Son Son, Time Scale and Born Spicy. This is much easier, only rises 2.5kg after the claim for Victoria Cover and looks extremely well placed back into a 46+. CONVENTION looks the testing material in a battle of the apprentices. If Tyla Becker can kick through to lead it’s game on with the weight pull. CONTESSA MEDICI is drawn awkwardly but has been consistent this prep. YANKEE LIMA no doubt appreciating being back in grade. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – KICK A GOAL SON WIN RACE 7 ADORE ME and READY TO RIDE are a pair of 3 year old fillies returning for Adam Durrant. Both look to have their fair share of ability, both trailled well enough to be highly competitive and both look well placed into an outer provincial 46+. Siding with the Chris Parnham lead and going with ADORE ME but wouldn’t be afraid to follow the money if it does flow for READY TO RIDE. TAXI a mad one for those looking for a blow out. RAGING ROCKET has been going well enough. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – ADORE ME WIN RACE 8 AL MAGICO looks hard to beat in this 52+ 1500m. Going back three starts ago lead them up at a solid gallop when run down late by Koranis (subsequent Saturday winner). Then finished within 4L of Creator and Bruce Almighty (subsequent 72+ winner) and then last start was well supported in betting before going down on his nose when the gates opened. Drops in grade, can cross to lead and is very well placed. HIP WIGGLE hasn’t seen a race this soft for a while. Michael Grantham’s yard going super. STELLA ANNE is hard to fault on recent form but doesn’t win out of turn. MISS MALIBU gets the run of the race. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – AL MAGICO WIN RACE 9 BLAISZEN CAZAH is the first Emergency so we’ll wait and see if he gets a start, but if he does he actually looks the horse to beat on paper. From the draw he can settle close handy to the speed and the majority of his form in the last 12-18 months is against stronger opposition than what he meets here. SNIPNTUCK did a good job to win at Albany last start stepping out to 1900 for the first time. Improving filly. YULONG EARTH is unknown at the trip but suited to the grade. ALL MAN an improver even with the big weight impost. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – BLAISZEN CAZAH EACHWAY (IF STARTING) Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,5,7,8 1,2,4,5,7,9,11 3,5 1,2,4,(12) Market Market
