Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 17, 2025June 17, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 OFFSHORE finished fifth behind Regal Service and subsequent winners Aphrodite Magic and Flying Choux before heading to a 1000m scamper when finishing second to River Angel. Racing down the straight third-up and is drawn towards the outside fence. Should be going close. CHASON WINS and DARK OPAL are both proven straight 1000m types. Given the gate speed and the barrier advantage have to lean towards CHASON WINS. THE MIGHTY BELLE shouldn’t be a maiden too much longer. She was solid in the same race as OFFSHORE at her return. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – OFFSHORE WIN RACE 2 MAGICAL SEQUENCE was a late scratching ‘first-up’ and has since been back to trials. Have plenty of time for this filly and think that she’s capable of sitting rearwards/deep and zapping them late. WON FOR THE GIRLS has become costly. Beaten at $3.80, $1.80 and $1.60 and while you can forgive the run down the 1000m straight after he ran around hopelessly, he was then given a 10/10 ride at Bunbury and was only fair late. Blinkers on, Pike sticks, but no star. THE AGENCY loomed the winner before Top Of The Walk gobbled him up late. Should be fitter again. SECRET INTENT was around the mark last prep. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAGICAL SEQUENCE WIN RACE 3 IMPRESSIVE JEWEL ran second to impressive debut winner Auto Cruise first-up and thought the effort had plenty of merit. Just needed to get rolling into the race and couldn’t at a crucial stage but never gave it away. Wide draw suits her. ROMANTIC RULER is now a 19 start maiden. He’s been knocking on the door for ages and deserves to win one. Just hard to punt these types who know how to get rolled. GOLD ENIGMA hasn’t had much luck in her short career and now gets a look at shades and Pike. Keep very safe. CHIN CHIN has a set of shades on and trialled like a horse who needs every inch of 1500m to wind up. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – IMPRESSIVE JEWEL WIN RACE 4 SWEET SURRENDER had her first start for Michael Grantham and was sent out a $2.25 favourite. Never got into the contest and was beaten a near 4L margin. Just looked like a filly who needed a lot more ground. Gets that here and willing to give her another go, especially after the runner-up Asphalt nearly pinched a Westspeed Platinum on the weekend. PRETEY ROYAL looks a filly who will just keep grinding away and looks a staying type. DAME D’ARGENT went around $4.40 on debut but was beaten nearly 9L. Another who gets out aggressively in trip but raced like she needed it! LAKEVIEW LIGHTNING is going along quite well and can roll to the top. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – SWEET SURRENDER WIN RACE 5 STARWALKER got the job done last start in a really testing 2200m on a deteriorating Soft6. He’s a true stayer and will appreciate any speed that is injected into the race. Like these 4 year olds who might just have a bit more improvement in them compared to the older horses who have been battling away in this grade for a long while. GRAND RESERVE won a 54+ with 60kg only two back. He fits the same profile. SIR DUSKIN arguably should have won two back when luckless behind Mirrorschino. Going well. DARK LOOKS is Dark Looks but has returned in good order. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – STARWALKER WIN RACE 6 MILLY’S CLVER TOO can sustain a big L600. Wide draws suit her and if she reproduces her runner-up performance splitting 3 year olds Fifth Essence and Nickelplay (both run Wednesday at Bunbury) she’ll be hard to hold out. AUTO CRUISE won like a handy filly on debut. She tracked up well, showed a good turn of foot and was given a nice push by both trainer and rider in the post-race interview. LEETRON impressed on debut back in August last year when beating now Saturday winner Stormageddon over 1100m on a Soft7. After the 4kg claim for Holly Nottle he looks well in. JUST FAMOUS put the writing on the wall first-up behind Run Pattie Run. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – MILLY’S CLEVER TOO WIN RACE 7 ONE PUNCH is a consistent type but does seem to lack a killer blow. Jefferson Tsang has only had 10 rides so far in his career and ridden 3 winners. His 4kg claim won’t last long and think the C1 that he comes through behind Fifth Essence, Milly’s Clever Too, Nickelplay, Ocean Goddess will hold up as a decent form race. Trusting in the young Hong Kong apprentice. SHOW THE WAY is caught between grades. 60.5kg in a C1, 57.5kg in C3 and 3 year old 0MWLY and 54.5kg in a 3 year old Saturday but not really racing at that level at the minute. Needs the right run under the weight. MY HARV is better suited here. CEILI is better than how she trialled. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – ONE PUNCH WIN RACE 8 ROCH LEGACY was super at his return to racing, however, the obvious question that will be raised is: was it the fresh run of a stayer, and can he reproduce it second-up? They’ll march along here behind Angel’s My Name and Lano and so he should get the right run for a horse like him. Many, many chances in this wide open finish to the last. ANGEL’S MY NAME never gave them a look in last start. That’s the way to ride her clearly! VILLAGE GIRL is a proven apprentice’s horse and wasn’t bad last start behind two nice ones. SNIPPERANDO has gone to a whole new level recently. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROCH LEGACY EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,5,6,9 3,6,7,9 1,4 2,6,8,9,12 Market Market
