Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 30, 2025April 30, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TOP OF THE WALK has always shown glimpses of ability and most of his better runs have been over 1000m. He has never raced down the 1000m straight but is drawn towards the outside fence and if he can stay in touch with them in the early and middle stages then he’s got the turn of foot to sprint over a fairly moderate line-up. SNIP THE STRAP has looked good in both her trials leading into her first prep and into this prep. Has something. LADY MAYFLOWER is now a 5 year old maiden mare and finds a new home with Misty Bazeley but did beat home Top Of The Walk in her trial. DARK OPAL better suited back to the straight 1000. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – TOP OF THE WALK WIN RACE 2 FANCY RED went around in the Pure Obsession maiden on debut which has produced plenty of plunge horses and a few winners already. Second-up she got close to running down Barecove Rock and now third-up she looks primed to win one in her own right from an ideal barrier. Has upside. HEAVY METAL went under at $1.70 at York in a maiden handicap, however, she drops 5.5kg and you had to lead to win that day and she was no hope after 100m. LATORIO found the line alright on debut at 100-1 and HOPE TO ADMIRE caught the eye last start at 200-1. Can they reproduce? Numbers: 7 – 6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – FANCY RED WIN RACE 3 QUIET GODDESS hails from the very powerful boutique yard of Jason Miller. Last week at Pinjarra the Miller yard produced two horses for two winners (Admire The Girl and Patron Express) and this filly has shown enough in her three trials to command plenty of respect on debut. MA MA BELLE was three and four deep the trip first-up in a complete forgive. SPANGLED STAR got a long way off them a few times at Belmont last prep but still attacked the line. BUSTER’S GAL was much better last start when running third to impressive debutante Brief Romance. Numbers: 12 – 9 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – QUIET GODDESS WIN RACE 4 STRYKER’S GAL has run 5 second placings across her career, including the day they travelled her up to Geraldton to try and pinch a country maiden. She’s had plenty of opportunity but with shades on and a good barrier willing to go one more time with her. COSTA STAR was super fresh. Hard to miss that run where she was bursting through at the rate of knots late. GRINGO charged home into third behind Too Soon first-up last preparation and has trialled even better this time around. Keep safe. WAR COLOURS wasn’t terrible behind Exceed The Planet. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – STRYKER’S GAL WIN RACE 5 CARAWAY was stiff last start. She tracked up in behind the leaders and then the gaps simply never appeared for her at any stage in the home straight. So far this prep she’s won a barrier trial by 2L, been nabbed on the post by Tousled Crown second-up who has been solid in C1 company since and then run a luckless minor third-up. Looks ready to win one. SPIRITART loomed and just peaked on the run behind Shamilian Miss. Pike on is a show of intent. NOBLE TOUCH seems to have really appreciated the weigh relief with Chanel Cooper’s engagement. IN YOUR CORNER worth consideration if she gains a run as E1. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 9 – 13 Suggested Bet – CARAWAY WIN RACE 6 HAIDA GWAII is a high speed filly with plenty of wins ahead of her. She sat in the breeze first-up, attacked speedy leader Lucky I Am and safely held a near 2L margin from the 150m marker to the winning post. Looks your ideal straight 1000m type – jump, high cruise speed, kick clear. In for a big prep. SNIPER’S SON returns to the yard of Trevor Andrews after a string of minors at Esperance and Narrogin. Has the speed to get the outside fence with Haida Gwaii. DE GRANDHOMME was an alarming drifter first-up and got too far out of his ground. Needs to stay in touch early. HEZANGELIC trialled better the second time around (clearly). Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – HAIDA GWAII WIN RACE 7 INVINCIBLE POWER ran third in the Mt Barker Sprint behind Final Siren and Playing Rio. Reproduces a run like that and he’s really hard to beat in a C5 1200. He won a Heat of the same series at Albany last season before finishing a narrow second in the Final at Ascot. No doubt been aimed up at this and trialled well enough to run a big race fresh. SIX SHOOTER went around $3.30 first-up in a 60+ Graduation and came home in 33.54. Couldn’t really go much better? BELTA OF A SONG won three on the bounce at the end of last prep. UUKHAI has turned a corner since being ridden for pure speed. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE POWER WIN RACE 8 SHAMILIAN MISS is going straight from a maiden to a C3 but in recent times that has been arguably a more attainable step than maiden to C1 for many 3 year olds. Michael Lane did the exact same thing with stablemate Redback Flyer and think this filly has just as much ability as him. DATE WITHTHE DEVIL tried hard first-up. He never really looked like running down Uukhai but to his credit he kept coming right to and through the line. Better suited here at 1400m. SIDE SHOW is racing well and Dylan Bairstow has thrown his weight around to get Pike. LE MESSAGER was $18 into $9 at his WA debut. Beware Triscari money. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – SHAMILLIAN MISS WIN Market Market
