Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 5, 2025March 5, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AMAROO STAR has had two runs this preparation, third behind Cryptic Joy and Star Supreme and second splitting Nicely Played and Mister Raffles in a 3 year old 0MWLY. He’s now off to a 1000m straight race and with the gear change last start certainly raced more tractably for Lucy Fiore. Ready to win. BUBBLES IN RIO is drawn the wrong side but David Harrison’s horses fly down the straight course. CASSENITE is drawn the outside fence and ran well on debut back in October. AMARLIME was luckless first-up and second-up in her initial prep. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – AMAROO STAR WIN RACE 2 SIXINCH HEELS could not have been more impressive at trials. She won by 3.75L over Urquharts Bluff (debut winner) and then the margins became enormous. Third was beaten 6.25L, fourth was beaten 12.9L, she absolutely blew them up. Her race form is great, her trial was outstanding and expect she’s capable of overcoming the barrier hurdle. DIAMOND CHOUX wins on debut with another stride. The market has paid no respect to that form though so she might be another big drifter? MYSTERIOUS FORTUNE has shown enough at trials. STARCHASER is trying hard. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SIXINCH HEELS WIN RACE 3 IDODOMYA ran third behind Superfluous (heads to the Lex Piper) and Masterly (races at Ascot Wednesday) on debut at 1400m and goes straight to 2000m. Not an easy task for a 3 year old filly but she’s bred to stay and she caught the eye on debut. SHE’S PERFECTION and MODELISTIC both went around $1.40 at their last starts in 2000m maidens and both got rolled. They’re more than capable of winning (and even going on to win C1 / C3 type staying events) but there’s some trust issues. LONG WAIT looks a stayer. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – IDODOMYA WIN RACE 4 DAINTY ROSE was a fast finishing second on debut behind subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY victor Nicely Played and then had genuine excuses behind Pharoah Show last start in a blanket finish at Bunbury. Drawn well, going well and now Chris Parnham rides. POLYVANOVA made Fayola Baby really work for her win last start in a career best performance. SMART ENERGY (like all of Simon Miller’s) has trialled up really well for his return and showed last campaign that he won’t be a maiden long. HEY PINO is knocking on the door. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – DAINTY ROSE WIN RACE 5 FANTAXTIC only got the job done narrowly first-up and looked like he would take plenty from the experience. He never really travelled in running and was under pressure immediately on straightening but he kept coming, got the job done and ran decent time. Think he’s got upside. DON’T TRUST JUDAS is not a trustworthy conveyance but off his last run will be hard to hold out. SCHUHBECK has even less trust on his side but his runs for Luke Fernie have all been outstanding. DELICATE RULER bounces on the lead and gives plenty of cheek. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – FANTAXTIC WIN RACE 6 CROSS STATEMENT hasn’t won a race since March 2024 and in the period since has had 13 runs without victory, however, he has also dropped from a m72 back down to a m63 and if he reproduced his first-up run behind Comic Hero he’d be very hard to beat in this. Weakest race he has seen in a long while. TALLANGATTA is a last start winner but hasn’t been seen for 38 days. Take on trust. TOO MUCH TALK would have needed the run off 847 days. SPECIAL VIEW is back to a point where he can find these weaker provincial races. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – CROSS STATEMENT WIN RACE 7 BARRA MUNDY is well placed by Ted Martinovich as a last start 60+ Graduation winner dropping in grade back into a C3. He’s 1800m back to 1600m so expecting that 3kg claiming apprentice Amy Jo Hayes will be given permission to ride him aggressively and get them chasing from a long way out. He wins his races through his toughness so he must roll. GOLDEN DORE put the writing on the wall last week with a weaving minor behind Close At Hand. He’s got real X-Factor. AHREA burst through for a strong maiden win. ALBERICH improves second-up for Tongue Wags (grow up). Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – BARRA MUNDY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 –7) 5,9,10 1,3,4,8 2,3,5 2,3 Market Market
