Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 24, 2020June 25, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 EXPRESSIONIST had three starts as an early season 3 year old and he clearly isn’t an A-Grader from the Peters juggernaught but does however look good enough to be winning a Pinjarra Maiden off the back of a reasonable enough trial. THE ANVIL has been well thought of at the race after dominant trial wins. Does need some luck from the draw. UNIBELLE raced in tougher races than this when last in work. Draws gate 1 and provided the fence isn’t the worst going should run a race. RUBYCHINO faded badly late fresh but they did skip along. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – EXPRESSIONIST WIN RACE 2 FIMOZZI steps out past 1000m for the first time in his career. Is a 5 year old at only start number four so has clearly had some issues but can run a split. Likely to be out the back last so will need conditions to suit but if they are getting home then he is a chance at odds. WICKLOW PRINCESS has had a lot of chances but always puts in a run first-up. SECRET STATUE has been good enough at trials to be in the mix first-up, especially in a relatively light on maiden. DO YOUR BEST has a gear change after a solid fresh outing. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – FIMOZZI EACHWAY RACE 3 GIANT LEAP is a galloper that many will have been waiting for since March 4th (some 113 days ago) when he had his one and only run of the campaign. Charged to the line behind Cliffs of Comfort and Mr Delegator, running straight past talented filly Karijini Aurora. Recent trial was great and should be put in-take out. STORM THEIF was a very good trial winner at Lark Hill over the 930 and Pateman riding at 57kg is actually a push in itself. WISE CRACKER ran very well on debut and with any progression finishes in the money again. MAGNUSON MAN will pinch one eventually when getting conditions to suit out in front. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – GIANT LEAP WIN RACE 4 AL MAHALO lobbed out the back first-up on a Soft7 and then came with a strong sustained run. Colin Webster’s yard are producing winner after winner at the minute and expecting that Al Mahalo will be breaking maiden status sooner rather than later. POVERTY POINT found herself in an impossible position on debut and then seemed to run her race in patches. Once she eventually balanced up she came hard late and while there is a query on the form out of that race if she can get any luck is a big danger. HINDSIGHT BIAS hasn’t been seen for 29 days which is a minor red flag being scratched in between but the debut run was good behind three winners (Bright Diamond, She’s Enchanted and Big Man in the Sky). MISS MARGAUX has been a touch disappointing after a dynamite debut. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – AL MAHALO WIN RACE 5 ICARIAN doesn’t have a killer blow but is in really good, consistent form and deserves to break through. Will be vulnerable over the last 150m but should have enjoyed a soft enough run in transit to that point to hopefully grind out a win. THEHUNTSMEN was specked at odds in the market and ran a race fresh. MISS MARANTA has been back to trials since catching the eye first-up. COMPLETED an improver in an even maiden. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – ICARIAN WIN RACE 6 INDIGO WILD has come back to racing in particularly good fashion. Her win (albeit in a C1) two starts ago was as soft as you’ll see and from an identical poisiton to where she should settle in running here. Stepped into Westspeed race last start behind the likes of Captain Kink, Nerodio etc and wasn’t disgraced. Should prove hard to beat here. BOBCAT JOHNNIE is relatively this lightly raced for a 7 year old, is a beast of a horse and on his day could give these a galloping lesson. First-up, no trial and 61kg brings him back to the field but rate him as a type. THE WITCH DOCTOR steps to 1200m and if she can get in is a live hope. FAIR JOY an improver. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – INDIGO WILD WIN RACE 7 DEW WEST was really well placed last start into a C3 and now stays in the same grade and only rises 1.5kg. Should again be able to lead early and then it’s up to Pateman whether he holds out Big Man in the Sky or takes a sit. Proved herself at 1200m last start and no reason the trainer/jock combo can’t make it a race to race double. BIG MAN IN THE SKY is raw and new and does a lot wrong but looks to have a serious motor under the hood. SEMINOLE BRAVE scored on debut and did it in slick time too. Just needs an ounce of luck. DAISHIO is always a chance in this grade but the weight seems to stop her. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – DEW WEST WIN RACE 8 ANNIHILATOR ran sixth in last year’s Lee Steere Stakes behind Sanabreanna, Massimo and Laverrod. Resumed this campaign in a fast run 1200 behind Aberdeen Queen and Levitate before running into Bright Diamond, Puckapunyal and Rewrite the Stars in a hot 3yo 0MWYL race. Steps to 1400m, Brad Parnham back on. A lot to like. CONQUERED ZONE has been trialling the house down recently. If he can produce his trial performances on race day at 1400m then he will take a stack of holding out. GIFTED WARRIOR draws the best gate he has done of the entire preparation and this is a winnable race for him. APOLLO will be flying the flag for race sponsors Belhus Racing. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – ANNIHILATOR WIN RACE 9 QUEEN TAKES KING has only had the two career outings and this grey filly looks to have some X-Factor about her. Her recent trial was strong behind Conquered Zone who returns in race 8 and will give a sighter into the quality of the trial field. Brad Parnham should have her just behind the speed and looks a stayer in the making. HEAVEN’S GIFT could not have done any more on debut. The filly who ran second broke her maiden in style on Saturday. DARING SOLEIL didn’t seem to stay the trip last start. Back in trip a big plus. BLUE HORSE is rarely seen in C1 company. Keep safe. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 12 – 9 Suggested Bet – QUEEN TAKES KING WIN RACE 10 WEE RIPPER has hit form and this looks another wonderful opportunity for him. Shaun O’Donnell elects to stick and he went awfully close to nailing Fuhrer in the WA Day Cup. From the gate does no work and has a turn of foot. PERCEPTIVE MISS is knocking on the door and looks ready to fire. Fourth up into the campaign and put in big runs at her last two. INFLATION was enormous first-up when sitting three deep the trip outside the leader in a fast run Northam Sprint. Got shuffled back to an awkward position last start. WATCH ME NEY NEY was huge at his first three runs of the preparation. He hasn’t drawn a gate all campaign and now lobs into gate 1. Historically has shown enough gate speed to hold a position and should be a big improver here. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – WEE RIPPER WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 3,6 2,9,10 5,7,8,9,12 2,5,6,7,8,9,11 Market Market
