Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 18, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 THE ROAN RANGER is lightly raced and steps out to a staying trip for the first time in his career. Last start at a mile only finished 3.5L off Too Fat Too Slow who was not disgraced against Mr Kunafa last Sunday. Weak distance maiden, can win. MARXIAN went round at 20-1 last start and also went mighty close to pinching it. Pike goes on and now he’ll be ~$1.70 but reproduce the run and he’ll be finishing top 2. CONTENTIONAL steps straight up in trip but has shown glimpses in the past. IMPASSABEEL not impossible as the blow out. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE ROAN RANGER EACHWAY Race 2 SMILE FOR ME improved sharply when ridden on speed last time out when dead heat third with Wicklow Princess behind Casino War and Pub Brawl. That could prove a fairly solid form reference and from the inside should again prove hard to beat. MAJESTIC HUNTER trialed well and then had legitimate traffic excuses on debut. Can improve again here and be right in the finish. KENTUCKY LOVE trialed in blinkers and should find a prominent position in running. DARK MISSION finished off well in a recent trial where both Lord Lonsdale and Endovanera were badly hampered by a riderless horse. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 11 – 13 Suggested Bet – SMILE FOR ME EACHWAY Race 3 GOKU could sneak under the radar. Only had the two career outings when sixth of seven and sixth of 8. But looking at the opposition of those two assignments Goku ran into: Angelic Ruler, Assetro, Sliced Bread, Coming Around and Caerhelan. First time dropping into a maiden and trialed well. PHANTOM’S STAR returns to the races after 3 good enough efforts as a 2yo. Hit the line hard at trials. CASINO WAR is knocking on the door but just can’t draw a gate. NEAT ACTION went better last start. Numbers: 3 – 14 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – GOKU WIN Race 4 AVA EXPRESS is a ‘class 1’ taking on maiden opposition. Won a 1600m maiden at Northam back in August but has subsequently been disqualified from that race. After went to a C1 and was beaten a short head. Back into maiden grade with only 58kg and Paul Harvey. Should win. LIQUIDITY has been hitting the line hard this preparation and looks like breaking through soon. TWEETY PIE was as a shade unlucky last start and finished off well on debut at Narrogin. XAARMERIT can slide forward and sit on speed. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – AVA EXPRESS WIN Race 5 NICE GO would have caught the eye of many a replay watcher out there at her most recent. Trialed really well with blinkers on and then raced at Albany without them. Made a sustained run second-up and peaked then third up was completely luckless and was bursting through late. IS A BOMBSHELL is again drawn to get every favour and runs for Jade McNaught. ADMIRATION STREET will need some luck from the gate but is racing well. AHYOKA FROST finally broke through last start. She is honest. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – NICE GO WIN Race 6 CENSURE has really hit form. Dead heat maiden winner two starts back and then at her most recent was thrown into a C3 when far from disgraced. Can sit close handy to the speed and drops back into a C1. TRAMIKA caught the eye when ridden from back in the field at his most recent. Interesting to see if he takes it up here. VERDANDI is better than she is showing at the minute. Keep her safe at a price. YULONG EARTH at his best can give this a big shake. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – CENSURE WIN Race 7 SETTLERS CREEK has not been to Pinjarra Park for a long time but has a good record. Third up last preparation he dropped in grade, Chloe Azzopardi went on and he saluted. Follows the same path here. FLOWER OF WAR has been the beneficiary of the race being transferred. Was drawn 10 on Saturday and now comes into at least 7. If Paul Harvey can bully his way to the breeze she’ll take serious beating. GUNS OF NAVARONE should get a much nicer run than he would of on Saturday and won well fresh. MORE ACES is racing below his best but draws well. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SETTLERS CREEK EACHWAY Race 8 KELLY’S CALLISTO is not known as a 1000m horse but was absolutely motoring late first-up behind Transgressor and Lido Beach. Steps to a more suitable 1400 and maps well from the draw. BUTTERLEA LAD will give them something to chase and there is no reason he can’t win this and go though the grades. PLAYING MARIKA might be forgotten by the market and drops into a more suitable race. STORMY RULER is really in form and rarely runs a bad race. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 13 – 2 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S CALLISTO WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,6,7 1,2,7,8 2,8 2,3,6,8,13 Market Market
