Scott Embry’s Monday Northam Preview Posted on September 15, 2023September 17, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TYCOON HARRY won his barrier trial by 4.5L over 1000m after matching motors with undefeated 3 year old Oscar’s Fortune in a 400m jump out. On debut he was pressured throughout and fought on bravely into third. Gold Citation and Blue Lagoon have more than franked that form since and with race experience he should be hard to run down. INSYDE SUCCESS is double accepted for Wednesday at Belmont and Thursday at Northam. He trialled really well alongside of Masamune. CABLE ROCK finished fourth in the same event as Tycoon Harry and showed ability. LYNS DAKOTA found her feet in her recent trial when skipping clear to win by a margin. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TYCOON HARRY WIN RACE 2 HYPERREAL trialled really well at Lark Hill over 950m behind Profound Benefit (headed East) and then made his debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY beaten 4L by Oscar’s Fortune, Gold Citation and Lord Shiva. Drops 6.5kg into a maiden and is drawn a barrier. Have to follow. SILVER EYE gains the services of William Pike for a 3kg claimer. Understandably popular with many punters after a solid debut performance. JUST SO SASSY burns turf but paddles late. VICTORY CHANT comes back to a more suitable trip. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – HYPERREAL WIN RACE 3 IMA WILD GIRL has some nice race form at 2 year old level behind Paris Calling and Hanchi. Drawn to get a gun run and only 53.5kg. Thought the trial was only fair but with 53.5kg and an ideal barrier she should be given every chance by Tash Faithfull. BRAVE SHOT has had a freshen. Looks better than what he’s brought to the races so far. The market loves him and he’s always meeting with big betting support. ENDLESS BOUNTY can always run a race at a price. DECORATION wasn’t bad at trials. Keep safe. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – IMA WILD GIRL WIN RACE 4 LOVE SESSION has been there abouts all throughout her career without winning. Last Thursday she raced in an open 50+ handicap staying race against winners and was forced to cover some additional ground early. Think she’ll be a better chased and now W.Pike goes on. These staying maiden are raffles but at least the Lova Session ticket has Pike on it. WHOS ME DADDY should be pinching one of these staying maidens in the near future. MR BLING is bred to stay and gets the right run. HENRY HAS SPOKEN ran well in a high speed, high pressure mile last week. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – LOVA SESSION WIN RACE 5 BE AWESOME finished third on debut behind Storm Leader and Rocking The Casbah after being slowly away and unable to really build into the race. Once he got out he hit the line and the way he raced suggested that he would need further. Immediately out to a mile and strikes a very, very weak race. Looks the one. ALL TOO BLUE trialled behind Made In Mexico and wasn’t disgraced on debut. SPLIT SHOT has his second start in WA and should only improve. CAMPFIRE JACK has hit the line really well on occasion since joining Bruce Watkins. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – BE AWESOME WIN RACE 6 HERE’S DREAMING is a sharp mare on her day. She’s raced in higher grade at 7 of her last 8 starts and her win under William Pike in the $100,000 Westspeed Platinum Autumn Final was unreal. Get back sprinter perfectly suited to William Pike’s riding. APACHE BLUE was in front for a long way last start before she was gobbled up in the final stride by Sophia’s Symphony. If he jumps cleanly he should be able to muster his way forward into a prominent position and based off his two runs back and his trials trainer/rider Mollie Clark has him in career best form. NATIVE FLOWER won well on debut when found at odds by many a punter. ELEMENTARY HOLMES is consistent. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – HERE’S DREAMING WIN RACE 7 ZOOROPA is no star but on the 28 day freshen he should be going close in a race which is likely to contain the key scratching of Kelora. He is racing in the first at Belmont on Saturday so unless he’s on the 48 hour back-up then Zooropa looks to get his chance in a thin race. WOZZECK can mix his form but as we saw in the Listed 3 year old events in Autumn his best is pretty good. HIERONYMUS BOSCH can go to a maiden but it was hard to miss his debut performance. ROCK THIS COUNTRY an improver. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ZOOROPA WIN RACE 8 MAGIC WHISTLE has emerged as a nice midweek / lower grade Saturday animal. Won a C3 1650 off a 46 day spacing last time out and that race was run 6.5L faster than average. Considering the time of the race and the fact he sat up on speed and did all the work it’s hard not to follow him. Getting better and better. STARCHIENNE is racing like she wants a mile and gets a soft run from an inside draw. MISS AVA toyed with moderate opposition last start and now gets 2kg off. KIA ORA JEWEL is flying. She’s really turned a corner. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WHISTLE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 7 2,5,6 2,3,5 1,2,3,4,5,6 Market Market
