Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on July 18, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DANEHILL STORM should open up an eachway quote and even though beaten 5L at both starts this preparation looks very capable in a moderate maiden. Pateman is white hot at the minute and if he finds the front will take some running down at a price. VITAL TOUCH continues to knock on the door but can’t seem to find a way to win. MIRISTISTIBLE would be winning if she could reproduce her debut run of last preparation. LATEGO STAR trialed well around some handy types. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – DANEHILL STORM EACHWAY Race 2 FA’LION MACHINE has wonderful maiden form for a race like this. Finished within 2L of some nice types at her last two starts and if they’re making any ground she’ll be mighty hard to beat. ROGER THE DODGER was ridden off speed last start and it’ll be interesting to see if they adopt similar tactics from a tricky gate. Ran on well. COZZY’S SMILE was an impressive last to first trial winner at his most recent. Previous trials left a lot to be desired. UNIVERSAL WARRIOR was moderate at best at his recent trial but didn’t have the blinkers on. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – FA’LION MACHINE WIN Race 3 GENERAL HUSSON finally looked like he was going to break back into the winner’s circle last start at the 100m but just lost a bit of momentum when he had to be straightened up. Wins one soon but how patient can punters be? THREESUN was brilliant at her first three starts this preparation and if you can forgive her last start flop on heavily rain affected going then she’s in it up to her neck. BUSHFIRE BLONDE is better suited here than first-up when she was found wanting late. BAY PUBLISHER can run a cheeky race at odds. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – GENERAL HUSSON WIN Race 4 LET ME PASS jumps and runs for Randy Tan you would imagine. Randy does rate front runners extremely well and if he can pinch a cheap section down the back he’ll be tough to run down. TAKE THE PUNT and JUST THANK ME are both knocking on the door and will race close handy to the speed. BUFF MAN is not racing anywhere near as well as last preparation but maybe the soft draw will see him bounce back. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – LET ME PASS EACHWAY Race 5 POLITE PASS kept coming when planted wide first-up at 1300m in a race where the form has held up to an extent. Pike jumps aboard and in a very even maiden gets her chance. SAN CRISPINO has promised to break a maiden for a while and will have a lot of supporters dropping out of the Oaks into a mile maiden. SIDE WAYS SYD was never a winning chance settling last behind a slow tempo. Blinkers go on and drawn far better. WORLD IS YOURS did well to make ground in another slowly run race last start. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – POLITE PASS WIN Race 6 REEF KEEPER was extremely well supported in midweek grade at his Lindsay Smith debut. Sure to be improved for the run considering he was first-up at 1700. Should sit right on speed here. DUCK FEET was eye catching last start when dropping back to a mile. That was a stronger race than this. STARKLE hasn’t won a race in a long time but is building towards one. PROCLAMATION needs it to rain and rain hard in the region. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – REEF KEEPER WIN Race 7 VITAL ASSET should be an eachway quote and his first-up run off 87 days last preparation was enormous when well supported. He had little luck at his next few starts and gets in under the radar here. GLASGOW GIRL was only run down late by a progressive 3 year old filly in Electric Light. FUTURIST made steady ground up the cutaway last start and Pike goes on. CITICHANT was a big improver last start and is settling much better in her races. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – VITAL ASSET EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,9,11 3,4,10,12 1,2 1,4,5 Market Market
