Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on November 17, 2021November 17, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PAIGEY’S TURN has come back to racing well this campaign. First-up fourth behind My Marlaina was strong late and then was never a chance in a slowly run event with the rail out and a cutaway at Ascot. Looks like she’ll eat up the ground and finds a weak maiden handicap. I’M A DREAMER showed at Belmont last Thursday that he will be winning a race sooner rather than later. From the inside draw CJP can lead or box seat. XCAVATE might be better suited coming back in trip from the staying maidens. FALSE EVIDENCE an improver. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PAIGEY’S TURN WIN RACE 2 WINNING PIA looks well suited in the maiden handicap conditions. Only two starts ago finished third behind Desert Vixen and Ruby’s Moon. Last time out finished 4L off handy types like Thomas Magnum, Dance Session and Beauty In Me (as well as having excuses). Nice race for her. JALINDA BAY comes from the same race and certainly wasn’t disgraced. YES MAN again from the same race and tough on bravely when caught deep and working throughout. Expecting Chris Graham to have his sights on the fence. MISS INTENTION is closing in on a win. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – WINNING PIA WIN RACE 3 TYPE WON is again well placed by Kieran McDonagh and reaping the rewards of using the apprentices on this front running mare. Won a C2 two starts ago for Keshaw Dhurun, won a 46+ last start for Holly Watson and this time goes to another 46+ (with half a kilo less) for Taj Dyson. Hopefully she kicks through to lead and then it’s a case of catch me if you can type tactics for the third straight start. BLANKENBERGE is no slouch and while rising 7kg in the weights has proven herself in far tougher races than this over her career. SAX ON QUE is no an 8 year old but can always pull out a run fresh. SHEZABUTOO finds a new home with Deb Lewis. Keep safe at odds. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – TYPE WON WIN RACE 4 ELLIENPINK had her first start for the Brian Rogers yard at Belmont Park a fortnight ago. She sat wide throughout when finishing 2.8L off War Warrior. We’ll see the quality of that form at Belmont on Wednesday when War Warrior steps into a very good quality C3 and provided the mare can get a more economical run here she looks capable of playing a part. SPIRIT OF PROPHECY is teasing poor Alistair Chegwidden as he chases his first winner as a trainer. Big Brenda did it tough last start and kept coming. YUNA MAILMAN finally broke through last start and looks more than capable of putting a few together now. These 46+ races are actually weaker than most C1s so it’s good placement by Paige Kenney. ACTIC BLUE can bounce back with a senior on. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ELLIENPINK WIN RACE 5 AMERICAN QUEEN went to Geraldton last start and stepped out to 1400m for the first time in her life. Didn’t quite look to run the trip out and finished third behind Fanzdazzle and Red Cadillac. Prior to that finished a narrow second to Carabinier in a 46+ at York and with the rise to a 52+ gets the services of CJP again. Looks to map a treat and looks a little tryer who will give backers every chance. BLAZING TYCOON has been racing without luck over the last few months. If Victoria Corver can keep him out of trouble, he looks like he’s going really well. FOO TROUBLE is always hard to run down if he can find the fence. Looks the leader here. THE ANVIL is another Gary Crispin horse who thrives on these undulating, tight cornering tracks. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 6 TALENTED ESCAPE is looking to win four on the bounce as Holly Taylor has him in career best form. With the claim of Jett Stanley he still rises 4kg in weight from last start, however, he drops from a m54+ to a c52+ in an astute bit of placement. With his race pattern he’ll be right over the top of the speed and with the form he’s in, he’ll take a lot of beating. ADMIRED won a 52+ first-up and then was really thrown into the deep end into the York Cup. Only finished 2.7L off Juicing Carrots, Roman Flirt and Tiff Has Spoken. That’s definitely good enough form to win this. CABLE GUY comes back into this grade and is more than good enough to win. TOMMY TO JACK is better known as a dirt horse but starting to prove himself on the grass as well. Competitive race. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – TALENTED ESCAPE WIN’ RACE 7 THE DIVINE WIND stepped out to 1720m last start and finished fourth behind Talented Escape, Smoking Barrel and Al Di La in a 58+. Drops back into a 52+ and drops 1.5kg in weight as well with Jett Stanley replacing Mitch Pateman. Should be able to slide across to the breeze and from there is capable of running a cheeky eachway race. BUCKEYE BULLET was bolding behind runners last start and attacked the line once finally getting clear late. Building. KENTUCKY LOVE was backed from $15 into $2.60 last start. Monumental money for an outer provincial race. Didn’t get much luck either. BLACK SMUGGLER is ready to win. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE DIVINE WIND EACHWAY RACE 8 SMOKING BARREL is well suited to these kind of races. Finished second to Admiral Promo in the Toodyay Cup, finished second to the same horse in the Moora Cup and then finished second to Talented Escape in a 58+ 1720 at Narrogin. Last time out wasn’t too bad at Ascot in a C3 and this looks a great race for him if Holly Watson can navigate a tricky draw. UBER MOVER is knocking on the door but it rarely opens for him (1 win from 48 outings). Finished third last start behind Hard Too Cee and Wild Galah. Meets them both again here but gets 3.5kg on Hard Too Cee and 2kg on Wild Galah for under a half-length margin. Could the planets align and we see Uber Mover win another race? WILD GALAH is honest and consistent. TIME STANDS STILL is actually going along ok. Numbers: 2 – 12 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – SMOKING BARREL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,5,7 1,2,3 1,2,3,4,10 2,4,7,10,11,12 Market Market
