Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on April 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ENCENDIO is going to be better suited over further but first-up, no trial and falling into a weak race he might be worth a gamble if he opens an eachway quote for a stable who can get them going fresh. CHASING THE ACE is having start number 17 but looked to travel for Jade Mcnaught last start. If she is going to win one before Dongara then Thursday is the day. POPPIES does deserve to win one but she has had more chances than most. RIPSNORTER is the X-Factor horse. Only the market can gauge where he is at. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – ENCENDIO EACHWAY Race 2 CRYPTO should just be winning. This maiden lacks depth and the 3 year old colt showed on debut that he is going to be winning plenty of races. King of Geraldton takes a rare engagement for the stable and should salute. Only going to be a question of price, expect ~ $1.50. XAARMERIT and SNEAKY DEVIL both have the necessary speed to sit right on pace and be in the finish. YOURTHEONEFORME will need luck from a tricky draw. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – CRYPTO WIN Race 3 RIGHTO comes off a defeat at Mingenew last start which will have many scratching their head. Previous efforts at Mt Barker and Esperance were easily good enough to win and this is probably the weakest C2 of the season to date. PELICAN PICK is limited and races first-up, no trial but if he is anywhere near peak can go close. SHADABLAZE AND STANDON ABBEY ran good races behind Nobel Impact when they last met. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – RIGHTO WIN Race 4 DYNAMITE JACK has run some enormous races in recent months without winning. He draws a gate to sit close enough and this is not strong. CAN HE HUSSEL has been a work in progress since joining the Hammarquist stable. They make yet another gear change but if he finds the front and is gets an uncontested lead can win again. ROLL THE GOODTIMES has his first start for the Maley yard and he is a genius with tried horses. CORPORATE TRADER is 5L better than what he produced first-up. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DYNAMITE JACK EACHWAY Race 5 TRULY GOLD simply picks himself here. Winner of the Narrogin Cup, Winner of the Esperance Cup and then far from disgraced in a Saturday staying race. He comes back to his home track and should return to the winner’s circle. BIG SHOT PADDY was only grinding last start and looked a different horse to the one who won untouched before that. FREEDOM BY CHOICE has enjoyed being allowed to roll along to his own beat. FREEZ’EMOFF has a good turn of foot and draws soft. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRULY GOLD WIN Race 6 KARNATAKA looks to have found a nice race. Troy Turner has run the show all season at Geraldton and if he can settle midfield with cover then this race looks ripe for the taking. Progressive type who can win this and better. FEARHILDI recorded a personal best ~9L above previous best to win the apprentices race at Ascot last start. Looks like faster the better. SADLERS HILLS broke through for a deserved win last start after a frustrating run without luck. ROCK MYLADY always there abouts without winning. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – KARNATAKA WIN Race 7 ADMIRAL HUSSON was allowed to roll by young apprentice Kristy Bennett last start and almost pinched the race. Expect her to adopt similar tactics here and be hard to reel in. BITOVEMU only won a maiden last start but beat some nice ones in Crypto and Megazone. Expect the form to hold up. KINTAIL races without luck but his better runs have been for Andrew Castle. RULE’EMOFF is the Troy Turner elect of the three Hammarquist horses. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – ADMIRAL HUSSON WIN Race 8 HALLDORA comes out running from an awkward draw and if Hill can find the fence, or at least find the breeze then this looks a suitable race. Has thrived since joining the stables of Murray Sharp and will again be hard to beat. TRADE TALK can never be discounted but is probably suited over further and will be back in traffic. CALABIA JOE mixes his form but if he gets into the gates and out of the gates is capable of winning this. MIKIMOTO GIFT with the shades on may look to jump and run. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – HALLDORA WIN Race 9 GOLDEN ACRES should enjoy an economical run from the gate. He has found it hard to string wins together throughout his career but is in the best form of his life and can make it three from his last four without surprising. BLACK DYNMAITE has been racing in 70+ and C5 company up and down all prep and he looks ready to win one for team social media. SKY ATLAS is probably better over further but has returned in good form. GLOWING ROCK won well on the dirt. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN ACRES WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3,5 1,2,7,8 1,7 1.2.7 Market Market
