Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 12, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FINAL EDITION is yet to really show a lot but most recent effort at Albany was not the worst and the step up in trip could be the key. This is very weak and he could improve. YOU DON’T SAY went mighty close fresh at start number 19. Needs to hold form. MONTENERO went well in the same race as did FREDA. Bit of a raffle on paper. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – FINAL EDITION WIN Race 2 WHISPERIT has shown ability in her short career and this could be the race for her. Dion Luciani has had great recent success travelling his horse to the mid west and recent run at York was nice enough. CHASING THE ACE was nailed a nose last start. She’s going to have to go back from the gate and come with one run late. DASHING IMAGE is getting close and draws a gate to sit close handy to the speed. BULL BIZARRE box seats from the gate. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – WHISPERIT WIN Race 3 MEGAMIND resumes first-up without a trial after 6 months away from the track. He is a big strong horse who should muscle his way to somewhere near the lead and goes close. ABU DHABI hasn’t won for almost 1000 days but has been racing in exclusively tougher company than this. His recent trial was sharp and can win. PARIS OF TROY was run down by a better horse than there is in this field last start. He’s ready. BLACK DYNAMITE is a query at 1400m but 4kg claimer replaced by a senior and a myriad of gear changes. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MEGAMIND EACHWAY Race 4 FLIRTALICIOUS is likely to come charging across from the outside and be used up early. If she can get across and sit in the breeze she should be going close. If she could somehow clear them out and find the fence they’ll struggle to catch her. VITAL ASSET did a bit of work early last start before being a shade soft late. Back to 1100m suits. SPORTING IMAGE is another drawn awkwardly who will need luck but went well first up. FULLY STOKED should be just about ready. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLIRTALICOUS WIN Race 5 VAN ISLAND was sitting right on top of a frenetic speed early and middle stages last start. A more experienced apprentice takes over and if McNaught can get him across to again sit in the breeze he’ll be very hard to reel in. DECOY NOXIOUS was a big winner over a mile and then never got into the race last start. This looks his sort of race. KARNATAKA has hit form and should be winning a few more of these middle distance midwest races. BOLLINGER BOY lumps a big weight and has to settle a fair way back from the gate. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – VAN ISLAND EACHWAY Race 6 GOLDEN ACRES is a bit hit and miss and hard to catch but looks to be going well enough to win this and Alan Kennedy makes the trip up to ride. That could be the push and if he winds up three deep with cover is right in the mix. LORENTINIO has put together two big runs in the region since arriving. Senior rider on means 61kg but going great. FREEZ’EMOFF should sit either leaders back or three back the fence and do no work. ILLMATIC the blow out with the right run. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN ACRES WIN Race 7 FIELD OF VISION jumps off the page here. Big winner first-up no trial when sitting deep the trip and still proving too strong for a multiple subsequent winner. Then went into the Road to Ascot heat and was far from disgraced when beaten under 2L Akiko. JENABEL can be the big improver second-up out to a more suitable trip. LADY SATAB usually builds into the preparation and has a nice turn of foot to her. CORPORATE TRADER won well two starts ago. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 8 – 13 Suggested Bet – FIELD OF VISION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,8 1,2,3,4,5 1,3,6 4,7,8 Market Market
