Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on July 29, 2025July 29, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BEYOND THE WALL jumps, runs and then paddles late. That’s him – but the 950m Bunbury Fibre Sand should be realistically where he breaks his maiden. The last time he raced this track/distance he was nailed in the shadows up along the fence and he’s back to try and go one better. PRINCE trialled up well leading into his debut and has done so again here leading into his return to racing. Interesting to see where he gets to from the awkward draw? BARBIELAND was heavily punted last start but was no match late for Global Trip. CHAMPAGNE COAST is through the same race and needed the run. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – BEYOND THE WALL WIN RACE 2 PARIAH’S THANKS is a 2 year old filly (even though it is the 31st of July and my entire Top 4 are 2yos) taking on the older horses and considering in her recent 950m trial she beat home Just Walter John (who is 2x Saturday placed) it looks a nice starting point for her career to kick off. CIRCUS ANGEL is a typical Luke Fernie jump and run youngster with a set of shades on. Expect her to be allowed to stride. NISTIRITH similarly, 51.5kg, low draw, natural gate speed. Let them run on the Fibre Sand. SO MUCH SERENITY might cover some ground but has some talent. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – PARIAH’S THANKS WIN RACE 3 SUNNY TIMES made his WA Debut on the Fibre Sand and finished second to now 60+ Graduation winner Lano. His effort at Kalgoorlie was outstanding and he looks like he’ll keep on his winning ways for Mack Hall. METALIC MARLIN broke his maiden over 1800m on the Fibre Sand when plunged in betting and romping home to a near 3L victory. Since then he’s been scratched from an Aquanita Stakes and then lined-up in a C1 mile on a rain affected track. Backing up, returning to the Fibre Sand – don’t ignore. SIROTA is a new horse for Josh Krispyn. WICKED COOL has some tricks but there is a motor there. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – SUNNY TIMES WIN RACE 4 MY IDOL won a C5 only three starts ago – that’s a 60+, this is a 50+ and while the jury is still out on whether or not he truly stays this is another wonderful opportunity to prove himself. Going to disregard the last run and focus on the <3L defeat in a Grad to now Aquanita Stakes, Belmont Classic winning stablemate Arcadia Park. MASTER TACTICIAN has always given the impression he would get ground, but he’s also a noted wet tracker. Fibre Sand? ARGYLE STAR was really good two back at odds. COVENTRY REEF gives cheek if leading. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – MY IDOL WIN RACE 5 GIRLS ON FIRE has Chris Parnham riding 54kg on a Thursday. She’s a Saturday placed 2 year old filly who has run fourth in a Magic Millions behind Do I Feel Lucky and first-up run into Twisted Steel (2/2 undefeated and broken the clock on both occasions). Into an All Age maiden on the Fibre Sand she’s going to be very short. DISCO KICKS is now 1800 back to 1500 back to 1275. Still trying to figure her out at start number 18! HAMADRYAD hasn’t been too bad on the Fibre Sand recently. SUNSET BAR next best in a very weak race. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – GIRLS ON FIRE WIN RACE 6 CHINO LA DIVA is a Westspeed winner heading back into C3 company having her fourth run of the campaign. She can get out and rolling, she can sit back and sprint home – she’s got some versatility and there’s a bit of an X-Factor about her at times. Think she’ll handle the surface (but really it’s guess work). SCENIC GEORGE finished second in a 3 year old Saturday two back. He’s been super this prep. MAGICASH has a set of winkers added but there is still a query on whether she gets further than 1000? Ike’s have been running well on the Fibre Sand though. GLOBAL TRIP clearly thrives on the surface. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – CHINO LA DIVA WIN RACE 7 ONE PUNCH had his first start for the ‘tried horse King’ Steve Burton (sorry Big Dyl, sorry Big D, sorry to anyone else who has lodged a protest – dismissed) and surprise, surprise he won by nearly 4L. Time and time again he gets his hands on these C1/C3 types and wins 3/4 races in a single prep. We keep backing him. ISHKUR should hold a spot and do no work from the draw. YALLINGUP GIRL was big last start behind Odinaka and Natika keeps the weight at 51.5kg. RANDOM REWARDS is more than capable of sitting deep and winding up into it. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – ONE PUNCH WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,9 9 1,3,4,6,7,9,10 1 Market Market
