Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on February 12, 2025February 12, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BOSISTO still has a bit to learn but like his half-brother Centre Bond he looks to have a level of natural talent. Was attacked in his 950m Lark Hill trial and fought them off, was winding up nicely late in his 1000m straight trial win. Ready to go to the races and play a part on debut. STARCHASER was solid on debut down the straight and looks better suited racing around a bend here. CROWS has improved with every trial outing. Must respect the Pride of South Australia. DEEP DISCRETION was a strong return from a spell. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOSISTO WIN RACE 2 SIR DUSKIN might just be a handy horse. Arthur Mortimer can produce these unassuming animals who make their way through the grades and off the back of his two trial wins at Lark Hill, his luckless fresh run behind Zippy Zany and his most impressive win over Ginger Morpheus expect he’ll measure up in C1 company. LOMBADINA is a very consistent mare and should bounce out into a prominent spot. PRIZED RECRUIT is accepted Wednesday and Thursday. Doubt Lou starts here. SMART SHADOW scratched from Wednesday to save for this. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SIR DUSKIN WIN RACE 3 DUG ANOTHER HOLE is nearly out of chances. He has gone under at $2.05, $3.70, $4.80 and $3.70 at his last four outings but this is probably the weakest maiden he has seen all preparation so we’ll give him one last go. Back to 1400m, can lead or box seat and it’s becoming now or never. Sin bin awaits if he gets rolled here. LYN’S STAR has placed to London’s Image and placed to Rissoles. She’s a big improver with a senior on. SECRET INTENT was fair first-up. Should improve fitness wise considering she was without a trial. CELEBRITY SKIN a watch. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – DUG ANOTHER HOLE WIN RACE 4 PLAYING AROUND had four runs last campaign and his minor placings to Russian To The Bar and Seven Iron really do look the right form lines for a 1400m maiden. All these horses resuming off 1000m trials down the straight at Pinjarra are going to be risky betting propositions but he did cover the ground nicely to the eye. DELICATE WARRIOR finished behind Vernacular, Rebelnado and Final Call. Could look handy by mid-afternoon Thursday. GINGERBREAD GIRL trialled well enough. AMAMUS never got warm on debut. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – PLAYING AROUND WIN RACE 5 REBELNADO was very well supported in betting on debut ($5.50 into $2.35) and got through late into second. He got caught in that really awkward spot on the Scarpside where he was behind runners, unable to build momentum and yet he finished off as well as anything late. Further the better for him. MISSISSIPPI DAWN was only just getting warm late on debut in a ridiculously slowly run race that didn’t suit her. TORONADO ROCKET trialled well enough, especially for a horse who was stepping out first-up at 1400. RETURN OF THE MACH had excuses on debut. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – REBELNADO WIN RACE 6 SHE’S PERFECTION finally gets out to 2000m and expect that is the difference. She’s a monster mare, needs ground and now gets out to a distance range where she should be able to produce her best. The minor query is barrier 2 and getting cluttered away in traffic – but expect Lucy Fiore will be getting her into clear air when she can. SPANISH KAT you can nearly lock in for second! Just can’t quite pinch one. Tommy Wolfe tries a fifth hoop in five runs. Love it. POINT OF LUCK can sustain a run. MARE MARVELLOUS should have finished closer last start. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – SHE’S PERFECTION WIN RACE 7 FLASH PADDY is really well placed by Raquel Williams. Since winning a C3 (54+) he has raced in higher grade at his last six outings and he’s been good enough in Saturday 66+ company to suggest that he’ll be hard to hold out here. Looks the right race for him. GOD’S GARDEN has raced outside the handicap at four of her last five. This is far more suitable and she beat home Flash Paddy last start. PAIGEY’S TURN loves getting away from Ascot. CHEYNE BAY has blinkers on and a senior on. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – FLASH PADDY WIN RACE 8 TALLANGATTA was held up at crucial stages first-up and then safely held off Antique Star second-up. Third-up he finds another race without any speed or pressure and that should allow Austin Galati to lead, dictate and then kick hard into the corner. Love Chris Willis leaders. PLAYING QUEST was career best last start. He let rip with a turn of foot that he hadn’t previously shown. All three wins track/distance. GRATIAS DEO may be three back the fence which is tricky but it was hard not to like his trial behind Perfect Chant. ELBOW LOUNGE is always there abouts. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – TALLANGATTA WIN Market Market
