Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 28, 2018November 30, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 REBEL YELL was well supported first-up after only a 400m jump out. Won well in a race which looks producing at least four or five quick subsequent winners. TAWNY PETE was backed as if unbeatable first-up last preparation and only just got across the line after being a touch slow away. Trialed well for his return. ROSEBUSH was underestimated by the market first-up and looks likely to be the third line again. THE GOBLIN GLIDER can improve with no weight. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – REBEL YELL WIN Race 2 FIRST GROWTH was treated for exertional heat illness after his last start and the forecast for a balmy 23 degrees at Bunbury should in theory be far more suitable. Interesting to see how he goes because form to 1800m is excellent, however, he is 0 from 2 beyond that trip. AMERICAN JOY is not an ideal preparation. Suffered a bad kick in the gates when Not Again Ken flipped himself over in the gates. After the claim is very well weighted. She can stay and has a turn of foot. ROYAL STRATA is stretching out even further and won well last start. BLACKBEEL best of the remaining two. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIRST GROWTH WIN Race 3 DIFFUSION steps from a mile to a very weak 2000m race, draws gate 1 and should be given every possible chance to run them down. Made good late ground behind a talented pair in Indominous and Hyperspace. TORTINA has had 27 cracks at it but you could argue this is her best chance yet. BENNY BRUISER is an out and out grinder. There may be a temptation to get him rolling early. POND ZERO steps up sharply in trip and looks likely to lead at his own leisure. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – DIFFUSION WIN Race 4 AWESOME AS returns to her home track after a gallant effort on Melbourne Cup day as an on speed runner on a day where the leaders were being swamped. Should be suited at the mile and leads without challenge. SENTIMENTAL FRIEND was reasonable first-up and should keep improving into the preparation. ELIZA’S DREAM was impressive late behind Friarandice. KIA ORA STAR meets him at worse weights but a 3kg claimer is replaced by one of WAs best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – AWESOME AS WIN Race 5 PRINCESS PIERRO is the type who will have a 50/50 split between admirers and knockers. She comes from two Listed races where she has been beaten a long way. Has blinkers added, drops into maiden company for the first time her in 8 start career and deserves to break through. ALTANI has trialed up well and the Darren McAuliffe stable is churning out winners at the minute. ARCHANT has shades added and from the inside either leads or box seats. VICTORIOUSCHINO was a reasonable run on debut. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS PIERRO WIN Race 6 STORMY RULER was a great trial. Never asked for an effort and won eased down on the line. Michael Lane has hit form and he will be hard to run down. DIGNITY BAY trialed up really well for his return to the races and then ran into what could be a very nice type first-up. Got a long way back and savaged the line. CAERHELAN ran a nice race on debut in a strong form reference. Draws soft and Pike goes on. FRIAR’S CLASSIC has trialed nicely for her return to the races. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – STORMY RULER WIN Race 7 GILLESPIE looked well above average at trials and then was caught three deep without cover first-up in a race which has already begun to produce winners. Hard to beat. COCKATIEL jumps off the page in terms of form. Effort two starts ago was big behind the talented Miss Frost and then contested the Champion Fillies. ZON ZOL trialed well and gets a soft run midfield from the gate. TRADEMENT ran a big race behind Free Trade but again gets a long way back. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – GILLESPIE WIN Race 8 SWEET DREAMIN’ looked incredibly well placed last start dropping from a Saturday race into a Class 3 event. Now drops back in grade again into a Class 1. After the claim he looks incredibly hard to beat. COCKY DODD was thrown into the deep end in the Fairetha. This is easier and he should come across into a prominent position. LOVE ALWAYS has more than her fair share of ability. Only need to watch her run to Freo to be a big player here. GOLDEN ARCHES is quirky and does a lot wrong but has ability. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – SWEET DREAMIN’ WIN Quaddie (Race 5- 8) 1,6,8 3,6,8 8,9 1,6,10 Market Market
