Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 4, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ALLEGIANCE has had 15 starts and finished in the money at 9 of them. This looks the race where she finally breaks through. Second to Stop Dreaming first-up at a mile, second to Mail (beating home subsequent winner Secret Identity) second-up and now finds a maiden handicap at York. Troy Turner rides York well and expect he’ll put her into the race and try to out stay them. ELUSIVE PRO can roll forward and kick into the corner. ELITE JEWEL likely tries to hold the top and lead. FEARLESS GOD gets big weight relief. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALLEGIANCE WIN RACE 2 THE CHIEF JUSTICE won a 1000m trail at Belmont over 1000, finished third to Wild Belle in a trial and then finished a distant second to talented stablemate Torpedoman (races on Saturday at Ascot) in a 1000m trial last Monday. Has speed, has barrier 1 and likely looks to kick through and hold the top. Hard to beat. RUATORIA finished fourth at York first-up when wide throughout only beaten 1.75L to Rockport Legend and subsequent Gero maiden winner Charcoal Chaos. Danger. UNSAID DREAMS was a forgive from Moora. AIN’T SHE CUTE next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE CHIEF JUSTICE WIN RACE 3 VICTORY CHANT comes through the Wild Belle, Star Power maiden which stands out as a form reference for a York maiden handicap. Has 60kg to contend with, however, has tactical speed and looks the kind of galloper who will require a senior rider for the tight cornering York circuit. 10L off Wild Belle and 3.3L off Star Power still reads up well. MISS INTENTION comes back in trip to 1200. Graeme Ayres gallopers go well at York and she’ll come hard late. LUCKY FOO FOO does plenty wrong but gets a great chance in this. JAG SUPERTROOPER has shown a level of speed in a few of his races. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – VICTORY CHANT WIN RACE 4 THE ANVIL finished only 3.75L off Universal Pleasure first-up in a 0MWLY at Belmont Park. Then dropped into a 52+ at York when beaten by handy 3 year old Bird’s The Word before heading back to Graduation company at Ascot when finishing 5L off Bustler. Back to 52+, back to York and drawn to stalk the speed. Nice race for him. CHOIX DE LACE has turned into a tough little mare. She’s hard to beat sitting up on the speed if she carries the weight. LUCY DA GREY is a barrier horse. When she draws low and can stalk she’s dangerous. Gets those conditions here. DOES HE KNOW will likely look to hold up. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE ANVIL WIN RACE 5 CAPTAIN SHARMANE made her Takahide Ikenushi debut in this 46+ grade at York when she was only swamped late with 60kg. She then went to a C3 at Ascot when finishing 2L off them. Winkers go on, back to York, drawn a gate to settle up over the speed and back to 1100m. Another winnable race for her. WEAPON OF CHOICE beat her home two starts back and only meets her 1.5kg worse at the weights. Clearly not much between them. ROCKPORT MISS produced a gritty win at this track to break her maiden. PURE DYNAMITE could be hard to beat if he finds the top. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN SHARMANE WIN RACE 6 KELLY’S LASSIE hadn’t shown a whole lot on the track this preparation but punters got involved at a big quote at Northam. Finished 2L off them and travelled strongly in the run. Blinkers go on, drops into a lowly 46+ and draws a gate to enjoy the run of the race. Think she’s about ready. CHARCOAL CHAOS got the job done at Geraldton and the horse he beat in the photo Holy Spy goes ok. CHOICE COMMAND is a huge class dropper and was solid first-up behind Keytrade. Love the placement. LOOKS LIKE MAGIC will need luck but is suited to this grade. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S LASSIE WIN RACE 7 FOR OUR NIC finished 2.5L off Vogue’s Choice and Oceanic Rider first-up at Pinjarra. Won a 46+ 1300 at York second-up and last start finished second to O’So Tempting in a 52+ when with any ounce of luck in the home straight he wins. Drops back into a 46+, proven at York and drawn a gate to settle midfield with cover. Has to lump 61kg but last start was too good to ignore. GOLDEN BONNEY drops in class and can nearly roll to the top here. DUKE OF MAGNUS was put into the race by Jordy Turner two starts ago and was duly rewarded for a positive ride. AVA EXPRESS can bob up. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – FOR OUR NIC WIN RACE 8 BILLY RAY looks very hard to beat in the 2022 Tabtouch York Cup. Fifth behind Trix Of The Trade, Brooklyn Pier and Creator and fourth behind Holy Ghost and Speed Dream. Mid-prep trial to keep him ticking over and now getting out to 1920m. Has been a work in progress over the years but looks ready to attack the staying trips and from the gate CJP can have him poised and ready to strike. CRESCENT CITY continues to tease punters. Looms into his races but just seems to find one better. NATIVE CHIMES was in season last start. Forgive and follow from her Kal Cup effort. PYM’S ROYALE a blow out at odds. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – BILLY RAY WIN RACE 9 DECOY NOXIOUS finally broke a long run of outs last start. He’s your ideal older horse who has come back down through the ratings system and is being placed to perfection by Summer Dickson. Proven weight carrier and can sit up over the speed. O’SO TEMPTING does his best at York and should give this a shake. Winner at York over 1500m three starts ago in a 52+ and since has been competitive in back to back 60+ Graduation races. This is his grade. SMOKING BARREL should be about ready. MISSALFIE grows a leg at these circuits. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DECOY NOXIOUS WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,4 1,3,8 3,6,8 2,4,6 Market Market
