Scott Embry’s Sunday Mount Barker Preview Posted on November 2, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LONG KNIFE BROTHER won well on debut first-up at 1200m and this race looks winnable. There is a huge amount of speed in it and as long as he doesn’t get caught deep should be in the finish. ICE MAKER will lead them for a long way. 4kg claimer expected to just let him run. ROUND THE POINT has always promised more than he has delivered. CLASSIC JACK is a maiden with ability, he’ll win one soon. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – LONG KNIFE BROTHER WIN Race 2 AMBER HIGHWAY is on debut and has trialed well twice for this. Once at Belmont and once at Albany. Awkward draw to contend with but looks to have ability. HIGHFRIAR was very impressive when trialing effortlessly at Albany. Hasn’t shown a lot on the track in terms of form but if you can trust the trial he’s the one to beat. TRIGGERFISH was well beaten on both occasions as a 2 year old but hit the line well in a trial. BIG SUMMER rolls forward to sit in the breeze. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – AMBER HIGHWAY WIN Race 3 TURN OF PHRASE hit the line well in a recent trial and looks capable of giving this a shake on debut, especially drawn the fence. BROWSING has failed to produce anything at her last three runs when beaten before the corner at all three. Recent trial was good but can you trust her? MYGIRLFRANKIE was simply out classed on debut in a strong 2 year old event, this is easier. CONCRETE MADAME ran well on debut and finds a suitable race. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – TURN OF PHRASE WIN Race 4 ARRUM BOY has very strong Saturday three year old form lines to his name and on the minimum in a high speed race he gets a wonderful chance to score first-up. Only concern is if he gets run off his feet. BOMBS AWAY was extremely well placed last start when a huge drifter and ran woefully. If he produces his best can definitely win. HOSTWIN PEGASUS is honest as they come and if he gets the splits will charge late. CAPTIVATED POINT is classy when right. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ARRUM BOY WIN Race 5 LIGHT THE FUSE was a strong Bunbury winner first-up and this race is inferior opposition to what she beat on that day. The form is strong and should be going very close to winning again. SUNSET PETE has grown a leg for Paul Hunter and the close family ownership expect a forward showing first-up. MU MU LAND should be able to burn them off and from there is the one to run down. CHENGDU is always a places proposition and draws soft. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – LIGHT THE FUSE WIN Race 6 ANNA AMALIA only needs to get across from an awkward gate to be right in this race. Winner of 2 from 8, placed on 4 other occasions and improved throughout last preparation. Could be in for a nice preparation. STEP RIGHT UP is not known as first-up horse, nor a 1200m horse but this looks winnable for him at a new stable. COUNT KALA is hard to catch and hard to ride but as long as Mitchell Pateman doesn’t look to slot him in he’ll be in the finish. CLEO’S AFTERPARTY has ability but obviously has her fair share of issues. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ANNA AMALIA WIN Race 7 CHASING CHOAS has been running in races which he couldn’t really win for the past few months and this is the best chance he has had. Draws a relatively soft gate and is used to lumping big weights. HE SAID SHE SAID will find the front and back to 1300m is sure to be hard to get past. GAUGED bolted in first-up at this track and trip last preparation, look for a similar barnstorming finish. LORD KRONOS is never far from the action. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHASING CHAOS WIN Quaddie (Race 4- 7) 2,4,5,6,8 1,4 1,2,8 1,2,3,4,6 Market Market
