Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 30, 2021July 30, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 YEMAN LASS brings an element on unknown to this Kalgoorlie maiden as a new season 3 year old filly taking on the older horses. Gets in with 53.5kg and then Luke Fernie elects to claim with Jett Stanley who amazingly can ride at 50.5kg. Showed a bit at trials and even the debut effort wasn’t terrible beaten 7.5L but by the likes of The Front Bar, He’s A Sizzler and State of Power. Worth a throw at the stumps. MILITARY BEAT will have a lot of admirers with W.Pike jumping aboard on a day where he should have a lot of big chances. KING ROAD raced wide throughout at his debut for Michael Grantham. Worth forgiving and forgetting because there was money around for him. LACIEON didn’t fire first start at the KBRC, they can improve quickly. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – YEMAN LASS WIN RACE 2 DANCE OF THE SOUTH was completely luckless at Kalgoorlie 7 days ago when slowly away and then held up for running at various stages in the home straight when looking like she had something to offer. Stays in Kalgoorlie with Greg Cave’s team and on the quick back—up, stepping out to 1600m gets her chance to salute. Likely to open a price too. MANY MASIONS is a former Jess Valas horse who Willie Pike will know him well. Back to back second placings recently mean he will be short and popular. WORLD RULER almost gave Nick Abrey his first winner in May before Nick Carapellotti trained his first winner last Sunday. Change of name, change of luck, same rude head. DO IT RIGHT gave cheek last start. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DANCE OF THE SOUTH WIN RACE 3 PINK AND PURPLE flashed home three starts ago behind Peko and Miss Zedel, struck a race which wasn’t run to suit two starts ago behind Hip Wiggle and Miss Zedel before finding a 1760 last time out when a good thing beaten behind stablemate Magic Will Reign. Just like Many Mansions earlier this is a former Jess Valas horse who Willie Pike will know inside and out and should be able to guide her to victory. HIP WIGGLE gets the run of the race from the draw and has shown a liking for the Kalgoorlie surface. MAJOR MAMBO finds the front and controls the tempo. Brad Rawiller is very good at walking them and then pinching a break. CUBAN TWIST didn’t get the best of runs last start. Senior on a bonus. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – PINK AND PURPLE WIN RACE 4 VIOLATION is a former Eastern States acquisition who resumed in WA first-up no trial over 1100m when sitting in the breeze and being gunned down by Herron Sand, Bright Glow and Sweet Strawberry. C2 back to a C1, Willie Pike into the saddle and a gear change (off side blinker for blinkers due to laying outwards throughout). Looks a nice assignment for her. GOODBYEFEDS has come back a better horse this preparation. Is showing a handy little turn of foot, just needs the right run. BYE FELECIA resumes and has shown glimpses of ability in town and Esperance in a short career to date. CITY CRUISER was never a hope first-up. Forget the run. Jimmy Stewart got the folding at the Tatts Club last weekend and might be reinvesting. Keep safe. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – VIOLATION WIN RACE 5 DEVINE BEAST hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in two runs back this preparation with an eighth at Belmont in a 60+ Graduation and a fifth in a 3 year old 0MWLY, however, she now returns to the track where she burst onto the scene last season winning 3 races from 4 starts. Drawn a gate, Pike on and back to Kal. If she’s ever going to bounce back it’s in this. BLAZING TYCOON was great first-up behind Black Comet and Dalswinton before being plunged late in betting last week. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. SEM(’N)GEL is racing with consistency and if Kyra Yuill can get him into the moving line he’ll be winding up late. SNIPPIRANHA gets some significant weight relief with the claim of Jett Stanley. Has to be a live hope from the draw. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – DEVINE BEAST WIN RACE 6 FINGERMARK is thriving on the training of emerging cult hero John Arthur Mason. 11 starts in Kalgoorlie for 4 wins and those 4 wins have all been highly impressive when overcoming adversity. Last year sat wide throughout and was only beaten 6.5L in the Hannans Handicap and going off his two recent wins he’s getting better and better with racing and round yard work. Drawn awkwardly but showing a big turn of foot. MR GENOA was chasing throughout last week, much better suited stepping out in trip to the 1400m. MAGNIFORCE won a Coolgardie Sprint last season over 1300m before winning a Kambalda Cup at 1400m. Claim gives him hope. ABSOLUTE is a hard horse to catch but clearly going well. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – FINGERMARK WIN RACE 7 OUR PANDEMONIUM finished second only three starts ago at Belmont in a C3 behind Rocky Path and beating home honest and consistent metro/provincial type Sea War. No luck at all at Northam two starts ago in a forgive effort and then astute players were almost rewarded last week with a big run behind Star Present. Looks the right form line and looks another in form Helen Harding eachway commodity. WUNDERKIND didn’t get much luck last start. Drawn in no man’s land but Willie Pike could have had a big day by this stage. SASSATIONAL might need further but both the trial and first-up run were great. PHANTOM’S STAR could be a sharp improver on top of the ground. Numbers: 11 – 12 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – OUR PANDEMONIUM WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,8 2,3,4,7 1,2,3,5,8 3,5,11,12 Market Market
