Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 27, 2020November 27, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GINGER MACK makes his way up the road to Geraldton with the travelling tea of Greg Cave. Has always promised to win a maiden and his most recent run was in a 46+ at York where he finished fourth behind Alluring, Laylo and subsequent Narrogin winner Sporty Spice. Should be good enough form to break through. DON’T ARGUE BUSTER will appreciate the fact that Troy Turner has retained the ride. Can go close again but does have a tendency to find one or two better on the day. KARLI’S KARMA missed away badly last start. Debut effort was strong. LA CHAIVE has speed and from the inside draw should be there abouts. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – GINGER MACK WIN RACE 2 RUBILICIOUS ROSE has always shown a glimpse of ability and Cliff Green’s horses simply thrive coming up to Geraldton. Jade McNaught picks up the ride and the recent trial behind Bentley Beau looks good now with that galloper running a big race on debut at Bunbury. Gets back which is a concern but looks to have a reasonable turn of foot. TIME STARTS NOW was eye catching last start at the end of September when closing off powerfully. 1200m might be on the short side for him. SECRETUS was beaten almost 6L in a trial, but behind stablemate Invictus Domini. Reads better when you consider what he’s done since. FRIAR TUCK gets the services of Brad Rawiller in an attempt to lift him home finally. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – RUBILICIOUS ROSE WIN RACE 3 GLAMOURESQUE went mighty close two starts ago when beaten a nose on the line by A Steamy Affair who has since made that form look really strong for maiden company. Last start everything went wrong when crowded and blundering at the 1300, losing considerable ground and then was held up until the race was all over. She looks poised to break through. LA MORNE was a really strong run on debut. Got well out of her ground and then hit the line powerfully when weaving a passage through. DANCE OF THE SOUTH was beaten 5L last Sunday, but by a talented filly in Fashion Queen. LUCKY ESCAPE is going well. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – GLAMOURESQUE WIN RACE 4 INVICTUS DOMINI belted locals by a combined 18L at two starts to begin the campaign before being thrown in the deep end when taken to town in a high rating 60+ Graduation. Had to do a mountain of work early with a stack of horses kicking up underneath him. Never got any peace, never got a breather and was brave in defeat. Back to Gero, jumps, leads and wins at ~$1.30. Get him back to Ascot. GINGER WILLIE has been a model of consistency his entire career and now with Brad Rawiller on looks a lock for minor money. MAY KEEP HIM is flying and Ash Maley continues to produce winners for fun. SPOOKWOOD rarely runs a bad race. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – INVICTUS DOMINI WIN RACE 5 BROTHER’S KEEPER was right on top of a breakneck speed in the York Cup. That race was run 9L faster than average and he went for home before acceptances. Loves Geraldton and gets a very talented front running hoop aboard. Think he can bounce back here. MYCROFT has put the writing on the wall at two runs back this campaign. Closed off well first-up at 1400m and then dropped back to an unsuitable 1100 and still rattled to the line. Gets out to his pet distance and provided they can make ground he’ll be hard to hold out late. STARORIO was flying before she went to town. Her first-up and second-up wins at Geraldton were electric. AY TEE EMM gets some weight relief and is well placed in this grade. Only query is the trip. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – BROTHER’S KEEPER WIN RACE 6 PALAVER ran out of his skin first-up behind Mystical View and Amasenus. Got back last start and never fired a shot. Drawn a gate here to take up a prominent position and looks brilliantly placed to score from the ideal draw/map. Not a great deal of speed in this so McNaught should have him right over the leaders (if not in front) and takes beating. INSISISIVE was an 18 start maiden before finally breaking through. 90% of these horses all come from the exact same form race, a C1 behind She’s Got Merit. She got knocked around and chopped out multiple times with absolutely no luck. ALL THE JULZ ran well first start for a new yard. Needs some luck from the draw. SIGNIFICANT HERO was given a peach by Chris Graham last start. Tougher drawn here. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PALAVER WIN RACE 7 RECHARGER was specked in the market first-up at Ascot when a late scratching behind the gates. The trial effort was super, and his overall form is extremely strong for a race like this. Did win first-up last preparation and it looms as a battle between the two Geraldton specialists. ANGRY ANNIE is a different mare at Punters Paradise Utakarra. 5 starts for 4 wins and the only defeat she was still the run of the meeting. Handicapper is starting to catch up with her and she now has to lump 59kg but from the draw she’ll be parked right over the speed and yet again take real beating. DASHING IMAGE returned well from almost a year off the scene. Astute local trainer Gordon Spowart makes a few gear changes and he looks the danger. SALUBRIOUS looks the biggest X-Factor horse on the card. Hasn’t won for a long time but Michelle Blanke does a great job with tried horses. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – RECHARGER EACHWAY RACE 8 STRONG HEART ran well first-up when finishing fourth behind Starorio, Jag The Joker and Three Generations. Didn’t fire a solitary shot last start but the race did break open in the middle stages with Snaggers Sardelic running them all ragged on Can He Hussel. Troy Turner jumps ship but we’ll stick. FAMILY DISCUSSION is the way that Troy Turner elects to ride and you can see why. He’s in form, he’s perfectly drawn and he is finally starting to fulfil his potential. ZIERA draws well and has no weight with an in form apprentice aboard. DIFFERENTATOR takes on the older horses and can run a cheeky race without surprising. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – STRONG HEART EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,5,6,10 2,6 1,2,5,6,8,10 2,4 Market Market
