Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on October 18, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 OLD MICK was well supported on debut and ran a very encouraging race. He was sharp away, lead, kicked and was run down by two above average types. Expecting that form to hold up and him to lead all the way in the opener. SPECIAL BEAU will have her admirers but may be better suited over a mile. PEARL DANCER has put in some cheeky runs and always trials well. CARLTON CASTLE trialed well for his debut. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – OLD MICK WIN Race 2 NATIVE CHIMES comes from the same race as Old Mick behind impressive Peters mare Special Choice. Expecting that form to prove very strong in the opening three races and she should take beating. SOLARIZE was very sharp at trials when kicking clear to win comfortably. If Pateman can cross them it’s game on. CHOKSLAM trialed like a horse you would be backing first-up but that was with shades which are no on here. GALAGA trialed well at Bunbury. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – NATIVE CHIMES WIN Race 3 CASA ROSADA trialed very well at Lark Hill for her return to racing punching deep the entire and winning. Went to the races and drew poorly in 10. Ran an absolute ripper behind Special Choice, Old Mick and Native Chimes. The Sunday bank is on that form reference. LEICA JAGUAR is knocking on the door. WARBLER keeps running well in slick time but jury is out on his best distance. MR FARENHEIT caught the eye late on debut. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CASA ROSADA WIN Race 4 SUPERSTORM simply picks himself. Was beaten as an odds on favourite at Belmont on debut when racing extremely greenly. Has been freshened up since then if he can keep improving with racing experience he looks well above average. FROSTY BELLE lead and was running at Belmont in a nice form reference race. Worth inclusion at a price. MR KUNAFA trialed well but draws poorly. TOOLMAN can put in a cheeky run on debut. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SUPERSTORM WIN Race 5 EXCISE FREE vs MISSING PRO looks an enthralling Sunday match race. EXCISE FREE was very poor first-up when blowing like a gate in the betting and running accordingly. Her last two have been much better and she now drops in grade. MISSING PRO was costly to punters late in the preparation when continuously missing away from the gates. If she jumps she’ll take a stack of running down. ROADRAGER is the X-Factor runner on debut in WA. MY LAINA should position up midfield in a nice spot. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – EXCISE FREE WIN Race 6 KIA ORA STAR is very hard to catch but this looks a nice suitable race for him to break back through. Has run some big races this preparation and no bigger than first-up in a 60+ when rocking down the outside into third. Dropping in grade he should be hard to beat. LOCOMOTIVE has just dropped off at his last two. His win three back on speed was emphatic. TAMPERING FALLS was given a peach by Harvey in front last time out when controlling the tempo. Form reads well with Bobcat Johnnie winning Wednesday. CHAMPAGNE GAL finally broke through last start. Interesting to see if she runs for someone other than Lucy Warwick. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA STAR WIN Race 7 ASTRONOMITE steps up to the staying trip for the first time this preparation and back to a 0MWLY 60+ for the first time. Back to back minor placings in 64+ mile races at Belmont Park is great form for a race of this nature. TWENTYTHREE RED is capable of putting a few together, he can stay and races well on speed. NOT AGAIN KEN is Not Again Ken. You just never know. But if he turns up he’ll go close. DIAMONDS FOR ALL comes across from a wide gate and will keep grinding. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ASTRONIMITE WIN Race 8 DEVOTED STAR will be the one punters have their eye on. Half-sister to recently retired A-Grader Enticing Star, she won well on debut but didn’t fire on all cylinders last campaign. Trialed up well for her return. HE’S A GUNSLINGER finally broke through in an Albany maiden last preparation but has always shown potential. His recent trial was solid and he draws well. GUNFLINT was the Northam track record holder for around 3 hours last campaign and can come across. SANABREANNA is hard to fault and Paul Harvey is riding particularly well. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – DEVOTED STAR WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3 1,2,4,7,8 1,2,4,6 3,5,6,10 Market Market
