Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 18, 2020December 18, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WEAPONSON was scratched from Wednesday to save for this and it should pay immediate dividends for David Harrison. Looked impossible at the 100m marker last start but really knuckled down hard late to score. Has always shown above average ability and really should have beaten Elite Street one day at Belmont when falling victim to the infamous 150m mis-stride. COCKYJOY won well in C3 grade three starts ago and has since been competitive in Graduation and 66+ company. Loves Bunbury and looks the big danger. MY LAINA can go well fresh. APOLLO similarly. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – WEAPONSON WIN RACE 2 SHOOTING SHIROCCO ended up settling rearward in an impossible position last start when plunged in betting. That form now looks super with Hot Mix being crunched and winning on Wednesday and Bourbon Beau getting the job done on Thursday. Looks primed to score. MATERIAL WITNESS was a late scratching on Thursday and now gets to a winnable race only 3 days later. BALDERDASH is honest and consistent but continues to find one better than him. COMEALILBITCLOSER has been a model of consistency but in weak races. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHOOTING SHIROCCO WIN RACE 3 BEAT THE BRO ran second first-up behind On Red Alert in a C1 with 61kg, then progressed to a Saturday Graduation when looking the winner everywhere but the post when nabbed in the shadows by Dark Mission. Drops back into a C1 and should finally win his second race in a highly compressed weight scale. SURRENDER TALKS was only moderate on debut but was the target of relentless money last start when running them ragged. ROGUES POINT chased hard behind Laylo but did get his chance. IRRITABLE RODNESS is raw and talented. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BRO WIN RACE 4 TENA KOUTOU caught the eye on debut when running fourth behind Testing Love and Balderdash doing his best work late and through the line. Went around as a $2.50 pop last start and was unable to reel in Redmill (clearly questionable form) but should only improve more and more with racing and this looks equally as weak as last start. ASK AN ANGEL was sectionally impressive last start and might be an improving type. TYPHOON BEN is very one paced. If he isn’t working through his gears at the 800 he’s probably going to struggle. ICARIAN is honest and continues to knock on the door. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TENA KOUTOU WIN RACE 5 REAL PASSION is a regally bred daughter of Pierro on debut in the Cerise and White. Always gets punters interested and the most recent trial was impressive when sitting back, bolting and weaving a passage through late. Should be hard to beat on debut. KAPTAIN KAOS was a really impressive trial place getter behind debut winner Gunmetal Grey and then behind heavily commissioned (and then sadly injured) debutante Black Venture before heading to the races when third to City Centre on debut when racing greenly and then second to Apache Patrol last start. SOMETHINGREADY is the half sister to Arctic Stream and looks like she will be winning plenty of races. PURPLE PEARL a big forgive last start. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – REAL PASSION WIN RACE 6 GRACEFUL GIRL could not have been more impressive on debut when hitting the line powerfully over 1000m. Cerise and White horses typically take a massive step forward at their second career outing and 1100m is far more suitable. SUN CHACEN was travelling strongly behind heels and looked to have plenty to give from the 800-400 and then ran a solid third. The horses in front were Doowahdiddy (subsequent C1 minor place getter) and Port Beach who broke maiden status on Thursday. Always looked talented. BON JUNGLES ran well on debut. HOT ZED ran last in a 400m jump out but keep safe. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – GRACEFUL GIRL WIN RACE 7 MOOD GODDESS should put on a galloping exhibition. Rated off any of her three runs this preparation she is a genuine $1.30 pop. Limited opposition, perfect draw, Shaun McGruddy back on. If she opens in the black it would really be Christmas come early for most of WA #dreaming. BABYTINO is improving and capable of sitting up on the speed. WILD GALAH doesn’t win out of turn but gives 100%. DIAMONDS FOR ALL an improver. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – MOOD GODDESS WIN RACE 8 DANI BELLA is knocking the door down and it might finally open here. Third behind All Day Session and Leica Jaguar, second behind Sheza Chalmer and then third behind Ginger Flyer. Form doesn’t get much better for a C1 at Bunbury on a Sunday. SEE YA CHAMP is savaging the line. If she can just stay within striking distance of the leader’s she’ll take serious holding out late. THE THUNDERESS is capable of improving sharply second-up. ADORE ME is drawn awkwardly but won impressively last start. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – DANI BELLA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,7,8 1,9 1 1,6,7 Market Market
