Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 11, 2020December 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 COMEALILBITCLOSER has been knocking on the door in slightly stronger maidens than this. Gets his best chance to date of leading and pinching it on the corner. Pateman rides front runners better than almost anyone else and he’ll give a sight. JESSISBEST was bitterly disappointing last start off the back of an encouraging performance behind Lord Augustus at Ascot. COUNT GRUNDY and WINGS AWAY were both equally as good last start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – COMEALILBITCLOSER WIN RACE 2 STORM WHISPER matched motors for the majority of a Belmont trial with debut winner (and stablemate) Ultimate Command. Showed an abundance of toe in a 400m jump out and then again over the 1000. From the draw should be right on top of the speed and looks the one on debut. KIMOIY was in the same trial and while beaten 3.9L did look to have a bit to give. DESTRUCTOR was disappointing on debut but may well look to come out running from the draw. OH SOPHIA wasn’t asked for much in the most recent trial. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – STORM WHISPER WIN RACE 3 POWERFUL FORCE closed off impressively at the trials and from the draw should be able to hold a position in running. Regally bred son of Redoute’s Choice and while the family typically do their best over further, he can win on debut. SNOWPIERCER only had 3 opponents in a recent Bunbury trial but Tom Widdeson can get his hands on a nice one from time to time. RAGTIME BAND was a better run than it might read on paper first-up and was a quiet trial beforehand. DASH DOLL looked like she would make the grade at trials. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – POWERFUL FORCE WIN RACE 4 TENA KOUTOU made his debut over 1400 and hit the line really well late in the race. Looks your typical Adam Durrant Blackfriars who will get better and better with racing and better and better the further they go. CRESCENT CITY was plunged on debut and never travelled like the winner at any stage. Watching the trials it looked like he would eat up the ground. TYPHOON BEN is very one paced. He will need to get moving a fair way from home. WINTER IS COMING an improver at 100-1. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – TENA KOUTOU WIN RACE 5 ANOSHAR looked in trouble as they balanced for home on debut but kept fighting and kept finding, beating off two handy ones in Prize Pursuit and What About Moi. That could well turn into quite a strong maiden form reference and she looks a capable type. MYSTIC LOVE is fresh here and did win in absolute style on debut back at Belmont. MY BLUEBOY is no star but like all of Paul Robert’s horses gives 110% every time he goes round. He improved lengths when kept to the short course when last in work. ROCK THE PLANET only knows one way and did everything but win last start. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ANOSHAR WIN RACE 6 NO APOLOGY is perfectly placed by the astute SJ Miller yard. Three starts ago he went round in an extremely high rating 66+ behind Power of St Geroge. Backed up 7 days later, was plunged off the map and won with his eyes closed in a 60+ Graduation. Last time out he was in the Listed Aquinita Stakes. 1200m may be on the short side but in a C3 and after the claim he is capable of winning fresh. BLAZING BILLY was scratched from a wide gate on Wednesday and resumes here from another sticky draw. His last run behind Resortman, Platinum Bullet and Captain Kink is seriously good 3 year old form. COOKING WITH GAS is going super and should break through soon. TRUMP THIS hard to catch but talented enough. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – NO APOLOGY WIN RACE 7 OUR DANNI takes on the older horses for the first time and looks astute placement by LK Fernie Racing. Is only a C1 taking on C3 opposition but has form around Brooklyn Pier, Gemma’s Son, Kissonallforcheeks, Chantorque and other top notch Saturday 3 year olds. BORN TO TRY has a horror gate to contend with but is Paul Harvey can weave some magic then she’s right in the mix. Overall race form is super. ANGELIQUE’S FAME has gone to a new level this preparation but will need some luck. LA FAROLA was enormous last time out as a 2 year old and trialled quietly. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – OUR DANNI EACHWAY RACE 8 BERET only comes from a C3 Fillies & Mares race which is clearly inferior form to the majority of opponents but the way she won was nothing short of arrogant. She looks in for a super campaign and the trial and first-up runs suggest she’s improved lengths on previous form. SPEEDY MISS and ROMAN FLIRT are both well placed in this grade. SPEEDY MISS early in the preparation and drawn wide but well weighted with the claim. ROMAN FLIRT a stayer fresh. PEPPIJACK is as consistent as they come and did a power of work last start. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BERET WIN Quaddie (Races 5 – 8) 1,2,4,5,6,7 1,3,4 2,3,6,9,10 2,3,4,6,7 Market Market
