Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on March 6, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 CREZEE made a mid race move last start at his first attempt at a staying trip and fought on well into second place. From the draw he can again sit right over the speed and should be hard to get past. ARCADIA KING is an awkward mover. He is just too big for his own good. Will win a staying race soon. SHOWADDYWADDY comes from the same race as Crezee and hit the line well. AMAZING LOVE an improver with Froggy Newitt aboard. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – CREZEE WIN Race 2 THE ROAN RANGER finished off powerfully two starts ago when flashing late behind Moderator this track and distance. Stepped up to 2000 for the second time in his career at his most recent and just doesn’t seem to run out the trip. Back in trip, drawn a gate, Pike on and moderate opposition. Looks the one. GREAT WATERS has run two good races so far in his career. RED HOT TIP was better last start. MISTER KRUMPETS ran well for Steele Casey last time out. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – THE ROAN RANGER WIN Race 3 RUM RAKER has had four career starts for four minor placings. Was 1000m, 1000m up to 1400 when second to Convicted Man and then loomed the winner when unable to get past That’s Funny Az last week. Drops back to 1200, should come across to breeze and gets another great chance. SHADOW SHIFTER promised to win a maiden in his first preparation running a number of cheeky races. TRUTIARA looked home for all money at Albany before hitting a brick wall at the 75m marker. SITDOWN BE HUMBLE has trialed well for a return to the races. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – RUM RAKER WIN Race 4 RHYTHM STAR drew a horror gate for the first-up assignment and ran well into third behind Eeyore Wayz and Oristano. From a far better drawn should get a lovely run and go close. PULI if jumping should kick through to lead. Looks like winning a few races from the front. CASA ROSADA was all at sea at Narrogin. He showed above average ability early but is starting to lose a few loyal followers. MOVENZA was not too bad on debut at a big price. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – RHYTHM STAR WIN Race 5 BABY BLUES was flashing late at a paddling Time to Sizzle first-up. That race was actually not run as quickly as it looked to the eye but no doubt Baby Blues is better suited stepping up to 1400m. From the draw should get every chance. BERET won well in maiden grade last start and has always looked a type in the making. GOOD FORTUNE is rarely far from the action and is about as consistent as they come. JADAVI ran well on a few occasions when last in work. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – BABY BLUES WIN Race 6 SOWAR won a weak Albany maiden two starts ago and then came to town in a fairly handy little C1 event. The two 3yo fillies who beat him home in that race (Kentucky Love and Cambist) went to the Ascot 1000 Guineas and ran particularly well. From the gate he should almost lob leader’s back and can go well here. THAT’S FUNNY AZ broke through last start after controlling from the front. Expecting similar tactics. EEYORE WAYZ won well and with any luck should be in the finish. JUPITERS SUN a mad one. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – SOWAR WIN Race 7 COCKYJOY looks like eventually making a Saturday mare. Has had 5 starts already this campaign for 3 wins and the most recent was authoritative. Took a long while to pick up Solarize but always looked like doing so. No reason she can’t make it four from six. SOLARIZE controlled the tempo last start and was beaten fair and square. Again should be afforded every opportunity. OLGA LOUISA is a Lark Hill specialist. Every time she trials tongues wag. Hopefully she can bring it to Bunbury. NORSKE CODE should stalk a strong tempo. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – COCKYJOY WIN Race 8 ARCTIC STREAM has really gone to a new level in the last 6 months. He is starting to fulfil his potential and his looks as one of WA’s best. The speed should be strong in this year’s Bunbury Cup and if something can tow him into the race from the 600 he’ll be very hard to hold out. THE BIG SHOW looks the logical danger. Should hold a tactical map advantage in the run. HE’S A PARKER continues to tease with glimpses of his old self. WRINKLY actually ran pretty well at 1800 in the Detonator. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ARCTIC STREAM WIN Race 9 ZACKARIAH BEAU was just held up at crucial stages before the corner last start when $9 into $5.50 and running a solid second. If they are making some ground down the middle then he is right in the mix and continues to knock on the door. AVIDUS has a senior rider back aboard on the quick back-up. Getting close, especially if leading. YOU AM I was given every mortal hope by Yuill at Ascot last Saturday when walking the first 1000m 11L slower than average. WILD FUSION comes up from Albany but last start won extremely impressively. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – ZACKARIAH BEAU WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,5 1,2,3 3,4 1,2,3,6,8 Market Market
