Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 27, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BRUNY ISLAND was far from disgraced last start in C1 company when held up at crucial stages. Stepping out to the 2200 looks in his favour and he can lead this field. Should be in the finish. FUSION was good enough last start and now drops 3kg into a set weights maiden which is far more suitable for a 3yo filly. Pike on as well. Hard to beat. TAKE ME HOME HONEY is showing staying ability. KEBALAH ran well last start but has had 42 chances. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – BRUNY ISLAND WIN Race 2 KITGUM ran a good second to Tycoon Storm last start. That filly has gone on to win a C1 when backed strongly throughout betting and bolting in. Form looks superior to rivals here and is a great return ride for Chris Parnham after a short let-up. SANS LE SOU comes from the same trial as Treasured Crown and Shake the Bloom. Looked the best trial to the eye of those three horses. MODERATOR trialed really well for a new stable, hitting the line hard. SHAKE THE BLOOM will likely need every inch of the 1400. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – KITGUM WIN Race 3 GREAT HEIST was well though t of on debut when tramping deep the trip and fading out to be beaten over 10L. That race contained subsequent winners Windstorm, Boomtastic, Is a Bombshell, Kay Cee, Eurotrip and Censure. Chased hard in a recent trial and can go close here. GRANRANDELL did a lot wrong at trials but finished off powerfully. Draws wide and looks green but could have a motor. SEA WAIF is the likely leader and that’s the place to be over 1000 at Bunbury. DEW WEST was fair at Narrogin. Trial behind Modern Times was good. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – GREAT HEIST WIN Race 4 BRUCE ALMIGHTY competed well throughout his debut campaign. From the awkward gate he will need some luck but can come across and go well fresh. NURHACI trialed the house down before his debut when beaten 10L. Nothing went right on that occasion. Recent trial was very soft and drawn the inside Peter Hall should give him every chance of saluting for family connections. ROCK THE PLANET likely finds the front. Her two runs this preparation have ben super. COCKYJOY was impressive at Bunbury trials and draws well. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – BRUCE ALMIGHTY EACHWAY Race 5 TIME TO SIZZLE looks set to sizzle along out in front again on a notorious leader dominated 1000m short course at Bunbury. ~40% of Bunbury 1000m winners lead at the corner and she’ll be free wheeling into the bend. Anything above $1.70 likely to be eaten up early in betting. JENJA is 54 days between runs but drawn 1 should box seat behind the favourite and get a lovely run into the race. OLIVIA KNOWS gets big weight off Route Eighty Eight for their last two encounters when not much between them. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT next best. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – TIME TO SIZZLE WIN Race 6 FRIAR’S FANTASIA has been teasing punters all preparation running eye catching races without saluting. Has a woeful Ascot record and a wonderful 2 from 2 unblemished Bunbury record. Back in grade she should be awfully hard to hold out late. NICE GO finally broke through last start and can definitely go on with it. JARMAN is a query up to a mile but finished off strongly last start from a long way back. AVA EXPRESS is still a maiden but has ability. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S FANTASIA WIN Race 7 COCKY DOOD steps up from a C1 into a C5 which is never ideal but it is hard not to be impressed with the way he won last start. He tramped three deep the trip no cover and won running away from them. Should only get better as they step out in trip as well. BEAUTY KANAS was well placed last start and duly saluted. From the inside gets every opportunity again. HEART OF COEUR was plain last start but did bomb the start. Previous win strong. MISTY LAD has been racing well all preparation and is best known as a 1400 type. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – COCKY DODD WIN Race 8 LADIES OF LONDON found a few traffic problems last start but was still beaten fair and square. This is another suitable assignment for her and she can position closer in this race. DANCE COCKEY drops in grade after contesting three tougher assignments than this in the last month. Blinkers on, drawn well. Hard to beat. TINTO BELLE broke her maiden like a mare who would win a few. SUPER TEROITOA can cross from the outside. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – LADIES OF LONDON WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 9 1,2,6 1,4,5,7,8,9 1,2,3,5 Market Market
