Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on November 17, 2023November 17, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LADY GONDO and co were in a completely different race to impressive debut winner Final Siren at the opening meeting in Albany. She should take great benefit from that outing and that experience and provided she can overcome a really bad barrier she should be in the finish. ROSENTREA was good in both trials. Won a 600m jump out and then was only 1.4L off impressive trial winner Heeza Beau over 1000. SONG STORY had excellent 2 year old form at Belmont but failed to fire a shot at his return. BAD BOY BU showed a glimpse behind Tycoon Harry three back. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – LADY GONDO WIN RACE 2 HEZA BEAU finished second to Final Siren in his trial over 1000 back in October and then was able to pull away and win by over 1L in the trial ahead of the opening meeting on 5 November. In back to back races Paul Hunter, Jason Whiting and the McRostie family look to have a big winning chance IF they can overcome bad barriers. Looks to have natural ability. GOOD SONG sectionally was alright behind Final Siren – just settled in a different postcode. HANS CHRISTIAN actually found the line really nicely behind Magnaburma and can settle on speed. SAFE RAPPA tries hard and gets some weight relief here. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – HEAZA BEAU WIN RACE 3 PRO IS HERE almost pinched a C5 at Northam when narrowly defeated by stablemate Annihilator in a Jon Jachmann quinella back in August. Since then he’s been competitive in and around C3 / C5 grade in the provincial area. 6 weeks between runs is the unknown but he’s on speed and he’s well suited heading back down to Albany. YES OF COURSE raced like a horse who simply needed ground first-up. Can punch forward into a spot here. FREIS WITH THAT is part of Misty Bazeley’s travelling team and the Yonga Lass form jumps off the page for a race of this nature. DIVINE MERCY can run a race fresh. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRO IS HERE WIN RACE 4 LITTLE SILVER destroyed almost identical opposition last start. He was backed into $1.34, he rolled to the top, he ran them along in the middle stages and he left them floundering at the top of the straight. Official margin 4.6L but could have been 10L if Alan Kennedy wanted to really open them up. If they scratch from Ascot Saturday to save for this he’ll be $1.40 again. FLY BETTER finished off as well as anything into second in that event and stablemates ROCK OF KAHA and ANNIHILATOR almost deadheat for third. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – LITTLE SILVER WIN RACE 5 FINAL SIREN looks exciting. Belted them on debut to win by 5.6L eased down and now finds himself in a C2 over 1100m. You would think that the entire Railways Premiers squad will be on course to watch their horse because if he reproduces the debut performance he’ll be going very close to winning again. ODINAKA and MINE HOST are both first-up and they’re both more than capable types. ODINAKA has metro 2 year old form to his name finishing only half a length off A Lot Of Good Men at Belmont. MINE HOST broke his maiden by a similar margin to Final Siren at Barker this time last year. PHENCE SITTER next best. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – FINAL SIREN WIN RACE 6 GOD’S MOMENT resumed in a 70+ when beaten 1.5L by stablemate Avoidance. The horses who finished in front of her all go to the 70+ on the program and she comes into this 60+ in an attempt to qualify for the Tabtouch Regional Championship Final at Ascot on Winterbottom Stakes Day. Nice race for her if she can overcome the draw. LOOKS can kick through to lead this and takes running down. SQUILLIONAIRE goes well fresh and is versatile. SNEAKY FOX has 63.5kg on his back which is most likely going to stop him but he did carry 62 to victory at Albany last season. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – GOD’S MOMENT WIN RACE 7 CLASSIC MAGNUS is a remarkable mare. She carrier 61kg at the opening meeting on a day where you could not make any ground and somehow she’s charged home into second pulling ground off Avoidance Late. Meets him 1.5kg better at the weights and is drawn to settle many pairs closer in the run. Not an easy task with the weight but she’s a ripper. AVOIDANCE and OXBRIDGE both got conditions to suit at the opening meeting when recording strong all the way wins. Do they attack each other here? BEAU ZOOM went quicker in the trial than Avoidance did winning the 70+. Watch. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC MAGNUS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1 5 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,10 1,2,3,7,8,9 Market Market
