Scott Embry’s Saturday’s Ascot Preview Posted on May 17, 2018May 17, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BLACK SABBATH picks himself having belted Market Ruler who put on a galloping exhibition last weekend. Goes around at a Winx type quote and is far from the super mare so surely nobody is backing him! NEMIROFF went round very short in a feature juvenile race, trialed well for his return. KELLY’S CALLISTO beat a subsequent winner at trials and looked good. PRINCE OF PROMISES is getting very close to pinching one. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – NEMIROFF PLACE Race 2 COME PLAY WITH ME has always shown staying ability and may be finally putting it all together. Postage stamp weight for an inform apprentice, ticks a few boxes. WAR KSAR has been catching the eye all preparation at Albany and is capable. PALACE ROGUE set good time in front and should roll along at his own tempo again. MIDDLE EARTH goes round a bigger price in a 66+ than he was in a 72+ last week. Drops out to last and can round them up. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – COME PLAY WITH ME WIN Race 3 FINALLY FRENCH was eye catching in defeat last start and did a fair bit more work into the corner than the eventual winner who he meets 2kg better at the weights and could even lead. Like his chances to turn the tables. TRULY BELONG comes from a form line which has been a license to print money so far, huge respect. MASQUERADE got all the favours last start and may do again here. COLD AS COLD is a nice showy type resuming. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN SuperPick - Race 3 No. 9 Finally French - Win Boost Race 4 NEW AGE tramped three deep lumping 59kg to an arrogant first-up victory. Looks in for a big winter staying campaign and can keep the ball rolling here. MASS EFFECT was massive at Albany last start and should get a nice run midfield. INVISIBLE PRO likely lobs outside of Forty Four Red at a slow tempo and controls. DANEFIN comes up a big price with senior rider back aboard. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – NEW AGE WIN Race 5 TAXAGANO took care of a game Missile Launch two starts ago and then did work with a full 59kg over 1800m. Three weeks between runs, back to a mile and down 3kg he can bounce back at a price. BROKER was caught in an awkward position in a race where they walked to say the least. Gets a gun run here. MISSILE LAUNCH is still learning what racing is about and deserves favoritism but is far from past the post. NO SAY IN IT gets in with a postage stamp weight and could even change things up and roll forwards. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – TAXAGANO EACHWAY Race 6 GALAXY STAR put in arguably a career best performance first-up when settling miles off them and missing by a short half head when rattling late. This looks hers for the taking. GUNNAGO is drawn terribly but Tayla Stone has been weaving magic for months now. RED PUBLISHER gets back into a much more suitable assignment and should get a cosy run just off the speed. FRIARESQUE is hard to catch but liked the way he trialed recently. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – GALAXY STAR WIN Race 7 ROCK MAGIC has genuine Group 1 sprinting form that the rest of this field generally lacks. He is weighted to win, maps to win, won multiple times off a similar preparation and Pike is engaged. BATTLE HERO has gone from strength to strength since leading races but Knuckey may have to really burn to find the fence here. RED ORA likely ends up three back the pegs and can sneak up along the paint. GATTING was never a chance first-up, better than that. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROCK MAGIC WIN Race 8 FORCEFUL looks a strong, powerful type of galloper who will continue to improve with racing. He was a strong first-up winner and this race is only tougher because of the field size. COUNT TOMOZ OFF has burnt many a punter, myself included, but he has been trialing well and the Pontiff is on. ARFA CHANCE lobs into a beautiful spot care of his natural speed. DENIM PACK has the best race form by a mile but is drawn to be a long way back. Numbers: 10 – 12 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – FORCEFUL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,5 5 1,3 2,4,10,11,12 Bet Now
