Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 19, 2025June 19, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PLAYIN’IT SWEET put it all together last start and produced a dominant 1300m win. A fortnight later she heads to 1400m and while she rises up 3kg under the SWP conditions the weight increase is offset by the fact she looks like she’ll enjoy a soft run midfield with cover and then unleash late. Same as In Confidence Wednesday – winner against maidens. PONY UP did it tough last start and faded out late. Both runs this prep have had merit. BANNERED just looks like he wants further and further already. FARADIO was an encouraging debut. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – PLAYIN’IT SWEET WIN RACE 2 MONEY TREES only won a 58+ at Albany first-up yet was kept safe in a Westspeed Platinum 1200m second-up behind History Won’t Care and Sunny Honey. Loved the effort into third behind that talented pair and certainly gave the indication that 1400m wouldn’t trouble him. Lucy Fiore is riding multiple winners at nearly every meeting at the minute and she’s a big chance of opening the card with a double Saturday. FORTUNE’S LUCK ran well under a 4kg claimer last start and is proven in this grade. HE’S GOLD was well found in betting last start and ran a much improved race. COBBANCO is always there abouts. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – MONEY TREES WIN RACE 3 FIRST ENCOUNTER put the writing on the wall in the WA Day Cup and then last weekend was backed as if unbeatable ($3.20 into $2.00) before being held up at a crucial stage while the leaders kicked clear and dominated the race from in front of him. Savaged the line once clear and 7 days later he’s out for redemption. Looks a great race for him and the way he’s covering the ground suggests he’s back to somewhere near his best. FOREVER BOY extended away powerfully for a 60+ 1600m win last start and looks a stayer of the future. FAT ROY SLIM goes lengths better for Pike than anyone else. DENNIS CHOUX has won his last two in style. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FIRST ENCOUNTER WIN RACE 4 MISS SKYHIGH took a while to hit her straps after her 3 year old fillies features preparation but at the back end of last campaign started to put it all together and her first-up run behind Luvnwar could not have been any better. She was wide throughout and yet still had the audacity to chime in with 200m to go. Brave effort and now second-up she can sit back and wind up through the gears we know that she possesses. NOTEWORTHY and WITHOUT REG were both just as good in the same race and both are more than capable of taking this out. MULTINATIONAL is at the end of his distance range but a tough on speeder. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – MISS SKYHIGH WIN RACE 5 LUCKY I AM has gone to another level in the last month. She was once a fairly weak 1000m filly but since stepping to 1200m she’s certainly found her niche. She’s now able to control, dictate, kick hard into the corner and is fighting them off and holding them off late in her races. Looks to lead uncontested and that makes her the one to beat. TRUE APOSTLE couldn’t have trialled up much better for his return to racing. Talented type on his day. CAPORETTO just seems to get the job done. Just an honest customer. SKULL BONE AND PIG has real X-Factor but was scratched last Thursday – “presence of mucus”. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – LUCKY I AM WIN RACE 6 WANT A WINNER is two from two undefeated and has the outside fence to his advantage. His last win in a 3 year old 62+ was ultra impressive when he exploded through the gap at the 150m and while it’s always a risk going down the straight for the first time going to trust that he’s well and truly above average and can overcome that obstacle. LORD SHIVA is just a different animal this preparation. They ride him for pure speed and that’s how a lot of races are won down the straight. Exciting clash. PROMISING is a sharp filly and has already won down the straight. MAGNIQUE doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – WANT A WINNER WIN RACE 7 WESTERN EMPIRE took his prize earnings beyond $3,000,000 winning the Hyperion Stakes and it took a serious effort, from both horse and trainer, to get the job done. He sat three deep the trip without cover in a race where they were marching (first 1000m run 15L faster than average) and yet somehow, off a 6 week gap, he ran down Magnificent Andy. He’s a beast. HEMLOCK STONE had no luck in that race and going off his first-up run in the Belmont Sprint is in good order. ADMIRATION EXPRESS powered into fourth while BUCKETS RIDGE will really appreciate the ground. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – WESTERN EMPIRE WIN Same Race Multi – Western Empire (Win) + Hemlock Stone (Top 3) Given the manner in which Western Empire was able to win the Hyperion Stakes it’s hard to see any of his rivals being able to turn the tables. We’ll lock him in to win and then we’ll be using the stablemate and Perth Cup winner Hemlock Stone as the multiplier to finish Top 3 after an outstanding return and a luckless second-up run. RACE 8 SUNBRONZED stormed past God’s Gate to win a 60+ 1300m two starts ago and then backed up off 7 days into a 66+ 1200 (back in distance) when never likely behind Wubin Gold/Objectify. Think he’s looking for 1400m and think he’ll appreciate being able to track a flowing leader like Kelvinator into the straight. Presents right place, right time and with most of the fancies drawn wide/settling rearward he appeals as a blowout chance. EARTHSTORM is a talented filly. She’s only won once but has Listed, Group 3 and Group 2 placings to her name. SIX SHOOTER continues to raise the bar each time he goes to the races. BOHEMIAN DIAMOND had no luck last start. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 14 Suggested Bet – SUNBRONZED EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5 1,4 1,3 3,4,5,6,12,14,15 Market Market
