RACE 1

DYNAMITE BAY won an 1160 56+ at Pingrup by nearly 6L last year. This race has undoubtedly more depth with the Bamford pair in Smokey Mountain and Ima Wild Girl engaged but local trainer Alan Smith knows how to get his horses up on Cup Day. SMOKEY MOUNTIAN is a jump and run type who has plenty more dirt wins in him. IMA WILD GIRL showed last preparation she’ll get ground on the dirt but can also sprint well fresh. MASTER BUDDHA won at Kojonup two back with 68kg.

RACE 2

DOUBLE RUSH showed something for the first time in 2 years last start at Narrogin. Went around 100-1 but finished 2.2L off Wise Words, Pretty Devine and Talking Heads. That’s good enough to pinch this. DOES HE KNOW has Amy Jo Hayes who claims 2kg at Pingrup (which is wild) and following her in these lower class races could be the best move. BERRY BERRY GOOD meets him 4kg better with Rocky Cheung going on. CHEVAP wants further.

RACE 3

NGAPUHI TRUST wasn’t terrible last week at Albany. He was 4.5L off Gingers Sister, Deep Discretion and that’s good enough to be competitive in a Pingrup maiden. SUGARED UP travels with Josh Brown from Esperance and if she reproduced the runs that saw her finished second to Keep a Knockin or second to Everlasting Spirit she would be heard to beat. RODNEY OH RODNEY is quick and that’s a big positive. SCENERY has been a hard follow for punters over the years but is Alan Smith at Pingrup.

RACE 4

MINOR DETAIL may scratch from Esperance Friday to save for Pingrup Cup Saturday. If Josh Brown pulls that trigger it’s worth following. He’s on speed, he’s tough and he’ll keep coming if they turn it into a war of attrition. STRIKING FELLA has handy metro/provincial form to his name and wasn’t bad at Bunbury a fortnight ago after being caught wide throughout. SPANISH KAT could prove a hard horse to run down if ZJP can find the front in the first 400m. MAKIN PROPHETS gets a long way back – concern?

RACE 5

FRIES WITH THAT was a handy pick up for Peter & Kayla Farrell last season in the NW. He won a race at Broome and a race at Mt Magnet and then on the grass only three starts back he finished fifth behind Manzor Magic, Runforrob and Full Of Merit. Wasn’t suited back in distance at Kojonup. MAN FROM MEMPHIS is no stranger to a face full of kick back. He’ll keep coming out wide. MAGICAL GEM leads but will he run 1660? ODDONEOUT is hard to catch.
