Scott Embry’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on December 21, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELBOW LOUNGE has returned in decent order this preparation. Beaten 5.75L by Lost City and Bonny Rock and then was only beaten 2.5L by Lost Gravity second-up. These maiden handicaps are clearly a weaker option than provincial maidens and he can stay out of trouble from the wide draw and rattle down the centre. BE MY BELLE went around on debut at Geraldton and wasn’t disgraced behind Ein Stein, Liberty Dame and Stay Astern who all have their fair share of ability (relative). GET OUT MICK trialled really well leading into this preparation and hasn’t been disgraced recently. PAT HAS SPOKEN an improver at odds. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – ELBOW LOUNGE WIN RACE 2 SOUND THE CHARGE finished third behind Idyllic Ruler first-up at Northam over 1400m back in October and since then has been around the mark at Northam, Bunbury and Pinjarra including finishing second to Play With Desire (since won a 58+ at Geraldton). 2000 back to 1720m and strikes a very weak race. Looks the one. WAR TACTICS hasn’t been too bad this campaign. Just a big ask to rise 512m in one step. ROCKABYE BONNY is first-up at the distance but showed staying glimpses when last in work. COATACHINO might improve to a maiden handicap. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – SOUND THE CHARGE WIN RACE 3 FLOAT OUR BOAT seems to like these tracks. Has gone well at York and Narrogin in previous outings and races right up over the top of the speed. Honest and consistent type who is always there abouts. Should land right place, right time in a weak race. SMOKING BARREL is a proven weight carrier and is rarely beaten far in these 52+ races. SHADOW GIRL comes through the Autumn Rebel race where everything is likely to be backed with confidence regardless of beaten margins. Keep safe. TUSCAN HOLIDAY is an unknown having raced on the dirt last preparation and attacking this fresh. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLOAT OUR BOAT WIN RACE 4 SOCIAL IMPACT looks to have found another really good race. Tom Wolfe took her to Geraldton three start back on a 6 day back-up and won a 58+ and now finds herself back in a 46+ and is the kind of mare who can be put into the race from a fair way out. MISS LAQUETTA showed some staying ability last start when she kept coming down at Albany. Like the way she’s building. JOLLY ODD can lead and roll and that’s how she wins her races. BLAISZEN CAZAH is fairly well weighted after the claim and is tough as they come. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOCIAL IMPACT WIN RACE 5 ZAC LUVS TO FLY lead and won a 52+ 1190 at Narrogin two starts back with 56.5kg and now he’s in another 1190 and this time a 46+. He’s drawn barrier 1 and provided that ZJP can burrow up underneath the others in the early stages and hold the front he should be hard to get past. SECRET LAIR was a great return from a freshen. Finished fourth in an Albany 58+ and drops right back into a 46+ here. Hasn’t run a bad race for 6 months. RISING COMMODITY thrives on being ridden cold and winding up down the centre at these circuits. ROCKSTAR STATUS a big watch first-up for a new stable. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ZAC LUVS TO FLY WIN RACE 6 BEAUTY IN ME is another Jason Miller galloper heading to Narrogin on Saturday who looks hard to beat. Take away her last run when beaten almost 6L at Belmont and her prior C3 form really stands out for this. She’s only 3L off Ima Single Gal, Harmika and Sentimental Belle two starts back. A repeat of that performance sees her very hard to beat. ROCKARIA put in his best run for the new stable most recently and should only be improving now. THE GREAT HOYA has a mountain of weight to carry but did win a C5 earlier in the prep. AUNTY JEAN is always there abouts. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BEAUTY IN ME WIN RACE 7 TALKING HEADS won a 52+ at York three starts ago when leading. Expect that Kristy Bennett will put the foot down in an attempt to cross them and if she can find the front he should be in front for a long way. DANUBE RIVER won back to back 46+ 1190m races at Narrogin in April this year. Forget she went around at Ascot back in October when clearly not right and now 59 days later she finds herself back at a circuit she’s proven on. 60kg an ask but she’s got ability. DAZZLING DANE is well placed here and is 2x C5 placed (albeit a long while ago). THERE’S A CHANCE goes good fresh. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – TALKING HEADS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5,6,9 1,2,3,4 3,4 3,6,10 Market Market
