Scott Embry’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on December 20, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 AMERICAN SOUL improved sharply to run a nice fast finishing six in a race where the first few horses across the line look like winning their fair share of races. BACIGALLUPO went close at York and Narrogin earlier this preparation. Goes well at the tight undulating surfaces. CARSON DRIVE was only fair first up and then moderate at best at Geraldton. OATHKEEPER has improved at each run. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN SOUL WIN Race 2 MISSING PRO has trialed on a vast number of occasions but really has looked well above average at all of them. If Camilleri finds the front she’s definitely going to be hard to beat. ONLY A ROSE trialed really well for her return and was sent out at almsot 100-1 down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra. She was held up at crucial stages. SMART FOX could well open in the red and deserves to break through but drawn tough over the 930. DANCE WEST was reasonable on debut in a nice enough race. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – MISSING PRO WIN Race 3 ATACAMA SKY could today be the day? He has been long touted as a connoisseur of fine dairy but this looks about as good as race as he is going to find in the metro or provincial region. Jimmy Taylor rarely ventures out this far and this is why. If he gets rolled he lobs in Geraldton. SECRET ASSAULT looks suited at the 930 and the veteran has been racing well. COPPER FURY can never be discounted as the track/distance specialist but drawn wide. LADY STINGRAY is capable and can’t be knocked. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – ATACAMA SKY WIN Race 4 MARK MY CARD has the blinkers taken off for his first-up assignment but historically at trials has shown an abundance of speed. If he finds the front over the 930 they’ll have to catch him. RAPISARDA had blinkers on in a recent Bunbury trial which was very disappointing. Had shown ability. TWO COOL is a speedy type who will look to come out running. OH HELL has trialed well for this debut and will have plenty of supporters. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – MARK MY CARD WIN Race 5 STORMY RULER trialed really well before his debut. Was slowly away on debut and hit a strong field. Then was attacked a fair way from home at Albany and battled on gallantly. SHEZABUTOO went mighty close two starts ago at Barker against a horse who has won a C1 since. AMILLIONITE has been a handful at trials but blinkers go on and if she jumps can position well. PRIARDY showed that the track is no problem two starts ago. Horses for courses. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – STORMY RULER WIN Race 6 ANNA AMALIA has been a tough follow this preparation for punters. Nailed on the line first-up and then raced well below average since. Draws gate 1, has the speed to lead and could finally be an eachway price. PEARL GIRL has done nothing wrong since her debut and looks to have her fair share of ability. STARSINYOUREYES absolutely flew late when winning first-up at York. This is far easier than most recent. FREECELL was unable to reel in Ice Maker at York first-up in a funny run race. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANNA AMALIA WIN Race 7 CAPTAIN STIRLING looks to have a class edge on these and if he is ready to go first-up can come across from the outside gate and even if he gets planted three deep the trip with 60kg can simply sit deep and monster them. THUNDERPLUMP should get every chance from the inside gate and well weighted after claim. BOYISH has interesting form and should be more than competitive here. SHIMMY AND SHAKE has one big peak career run and then nothing alongside it. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN STIRLING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,5,8 2 3,4,5 1 Market Market
