Scott Embry’s Saturday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 28, 2022October 28, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BOOZEROO never saw daylight at his first start for Josh Brown. Imagine the horse pulled up fine but the trainer likely took the 30 days to pick the toys up and put them back in the cot. Gets a great chance to bounce back and head to Esperance as a C1 galloper. Leading rider Tash Faithful takes over and expect him to go well. EDWARDS CHOICE has the shades removed. Yet to reproduce his excellent 2 year old debut run at Belmont Park. COMPAK was a sharp improver heading to the Goldfields. Blinkers go on. PLAY LADY PLAY ran a great race two starts ago. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – BOOZEROO WIN RACE 2 TURBO POWER has been a revelation this preparation. Did a great job in Broome for Team Gulberti and is now doing even better things back in the Goldfields for Trevor Tasker. Having his 11th run of the preparation but he’s meeting a very similar line-up of horses to what he’s been beating recently. Drops 1.5kg with the Angie Johnston claim and looks suited again. NURHACI is knocking on the door. Concedes him 2kg from last start but the barrier means he can stalk. PROTECTED ACTION is hard to run down when he finds the front and rolls. WHIM CREEK sneaks up the fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – NURHACI WIN RACE 3 SO LIKEABLE returns to the KBRC as Brock Lewthwaite looks to hold off Peter Fernie in the Kalgoorlie Trainers Premiership. Won a maiden by 2L, won a C2 by 6L and then was a $3.30 chance in a 64+ at his last start. Given a freshen and comes back to 1400m. Nice point to kick off for him. GLUTEN FREE finally won another race last start. Rock hard fit (14th run of campaign) and will come across into a prominent position. BALDERDASH can improve with a month between runs. IRRITABLE RODNEE is not an easy horse to ride but Cassey Martinan knows him well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SO LIKEABLE WIN RACE 4 GALAHS DO ROAR picks up a race every preparation. She’s never far from the action and she has been placed at her last two. Knocking on the door and Neil Dellar opts for the 3kg claim to get a bit of weight off her back. Drawn to enjoy a nice run midfield and is ready to break through. WESTERN RHYTHM finally won another race first-up. She’s always been a mare with a level of ability, it’s just her race pattern is always against her. No surprise to see her go back to back. COUNT GRUNDY might need further but his metro form more than measures up. RISKY LYRICS comes back in trip to suit. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – GALAHS DO ROAR WIN RACE 5 MAGIC WILL REIGN is another who has relished being back on the grass after a NW preparation in Broome. Winner for Angie Johnston three starts ago and then has run two solid placings since. From the gate he can settle midfield with cover and probably has the best turn of acceleration in this field. Kalgoorlie 1760m specialist and looks another very winnable race for him. BILL THE BEE has been racing with great consistency since arriving in WA for Ash Grace. Sits up on speed and gives a kick. BAILEYS won well on Cup Day. Drawn wide and likely to get back. EUROGEM is ready to win. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WILL REIGN WIN RACE 6 PEDAL POWER looks a Perth horse in the making and this first Heat of the Tabtouch Regional Championship should mean that he books his ticket to Ascot. Exciting galloper who has let rip with a blistering turn of acceleration at his last two starts. Tash Faithful can have him poised ready to strike from barrier 1 and with clear galloping room he should take care of these on his way through the grades. SOLARIZE is always around the mark and has been racing well recently. TALK IT UP has been consistently there all campaign. BIN SHALAA has been a find for Georgia Grant. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – PEDAL POWER WIN RACE 7 NO WHISPERING was a shade disappointing last start when finding the front and only whacking away to the line. Peter Fernie tinkers with the gear and puts a senior rider on. Willing to follow up on the lightly raced 3 year old. Leads and takes running down again. FIENDISH was a big effort in defeat. Loomed the winner before only blowing out late. FACTORY MADE gets a 4.5kg weight swing on Basil’s Dream from that same race. BASIL’S DREAM will need an ounce of luck but has a turn of foot. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – NO WHISPERING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4 1,4 2 1,2,3,4 Market Market
